With two day to go i think we can be confident that the Clasica Comunitat Valenciana will go on.

Could have been pretty good if raced in the opposite way.

Roniel Campos wins the Volta a Tachira 2.5m ahead of Babyface Sevilla, Pellaud wins the final stage.
Apparently he already has a deal with a Portugese team, so if everything goes well we could see him at the Volta with the big boys.

I was excited for a moment cause I tought Sevilla was going to ride the Volta

And meanwhile in France, Jonas Rutsch had the probably worst start to a season; he crashed out... of the neutral zone!
In the race there's a six-man group with about 50 seconds, and little under 50 K to go.

Not correct. Jonas Rutsch did not even show up to the start. Mathias le Turnier and Julen Amezqueta crashed out in the neutral zone and abandoned before the official start.

Of course! Rutsch is listed as DNS... should've realised that.

And now it's Wellens at the front, chased by Brit-Turned-Frenchman Simon Carr.

That coverage was absolutely atrocious. Between the camera, Kirby, commentators talking at the same time as I'm pretty sure there's lag at Kirby's end

What a weird winner. Wasn't he supposed to be a non-explosive GC rider, Paret-Peintre?

What the hell is up with the helicopter camera?
Between that and the shaky moto (have they not heard of stabilizers?) footage I might have to have a lie down...

My takeaway from this race is that the new AG2R jerseys are as weak as I thought they might be, and Vital Concept brings a strong jersey game, even if Coquard disappointed in teh end.

Yeah, he was a very unlikely winner in that reduced sprint.

Trentin started it very early and Couqard had to pass him a bit too early to be able to hold on to the line, set it up for someone else to pass.

Probably some tired legs in the first race of the season for some.

But where was Laporte? Didnt even contest in it.
