After a battle between FdJ and Cofidis, it seems the final selection has been made now with Reichenbach, Godon, Bonnamour, Barguil, Périchon and Urko Berrade from Equipo Kern in the leading group. 3 km remaining.

2 km now, and they have a minute to the Laporte and Pinot group.

Périchon's already lost one important sprint to Godon this year, so there was no reason for him to lead Godon out here, unless he just wanted to make sure he would be the team leader from now on.

So who likes sterrato? Anybody like sterrato?

The Baltic Chain Tour is offering this on stage 2 on Saturday. Somebody somewhere must be broadcasting this, pretty please?

Anyone knows what's happening to van Avermaet? Lately he fell of a cliff even bigger than Nibali, already the spring was worrying even if he somehow managed to hang on for dear life and snatch a Ronde podium that masked it a bit but the summer is totally a disaster, nowhere to be seen at the Tour with the highlight of saving himself from the time cut for five seconds in Tignes and now shipping dozens of minutes in a race with a percours that should suit him very well and even a pretty poor field.

His classics season was actually quite respectable imo but ever since Ronde he has been awful, maybe he keeps getting a new dose of the vaccine every couple of weeks.

Ok, we laughed a little when he won a Belgian one-day race against some third tier riders earlier in the season, but the GP Marcel Kint is definitely a bit better. Forget about Cav and Jakobsen; this one is the real comeback story of the year!

Damn, Hodeg winning sprints against Tour stage winners now?! Stonks rising!

Räim looked to be in prime position, but he couldn't match Karl Patrick Lauk's speed at all. Laurence Pithie leads the race by one second to Lauk. I didn't expect 31+ riders to be in the leading group at the end with all those gravel sections.
