Schaal Sels returns tomorrow after a two year Covid break, but again, Eurosport Player isn't covering a1.1 race. Seem to be becoming a bit of trend recently?

Don't say that. At least Eschborn-Frankfurt has put options in there for any outcome other than a sprint and has a history which involves many other outcomes, it's just any possibility of any other finish has gone away completely as it became so likely it would be a sprint that more or less everybody with a chance of winning that way sends a full sprint team and nobody else thinks they have a chance so don't even bother anymore.
And to make it extra confusing; last year Eschborn-Frankfurt was held around the usual time-slot of "Bemer" (or whatever it's been called), while this race was cancelled.

How has the Cyclassics not done that? In the noughties it was actually an interesting MSR like race that could go either way. Now, the Waseberg is just not a big enough challenge to the sprinters plus nobody believes it will not end in a sprint.
In Bemer, the Waseberg is actually not that far from the finish line, so I’m referencing that both try with some hills, but don’t work.
I guess you could argue that, yes. In fairness, the Cyclassics organisers have utilised what they have at their disposal, the Frankfurt organisers have a lot more at their disposal, but the need to finish in the city centre (and the Finanzplatz group insisting on the circuits) has completely killed the value of those obstacles. They need to go to the east of the city and use that short but very steep ramp in the Enkheim area to have any chance of restoring anything but a sprint, but they're too tied to the tradition of Feldberg and Mammolshain as the main obstacles. The roads back into Frankfurt from Mammolshain are just too wide open and suit the bunch far more, sadly.
It's like the reverse problem of San Sebastián. That going to add the steep ramps on the other side of the city have rendered Arkale and Jaizkibel irrelevant now, so it's lost a bit of its tradition; Frankfurt needs to accept that it's lost a lot of its tradition and add the new climb. It's been used in racing before, in the Hessen-Rundfahrt, the DeutschlandTour and in a national championships race, so it's not like I'm suggesting anything revolutionary either.
