But that group is supposedly over a minute behind his.

Could still play with it, they're catching Martinez anyways I think.

I honestly think Martinez should give up as he's not that slow at the end anyways. Althought beating Hirschi is probably not possible.

Rubio has form at this style of racing - He did the same in the 2021 Giro with DeGendt who sat up so neither could win the stage.

So Hirschi not going to worlds? Cause he looks damn good.
Think he's just doing the Italian fall races and then presumably Lombardia. He looks really good considering this is only his second race since the Tour. There were some signs his sprint was coming back prior to that.

not sure Hirschi is still is any quick. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets beaten by Rota
Yes he's not done brilliantly in group finishes since he came back from injury. I think sprinting is usually the last ability to return? There were some signs he was improving prior to the Tour though I think?

If you want to see on of the horrible side effects of the relagtion thing. Look at the 2nd group where Kron needs to ride with 2 movi's and Martin in his wheel because they don't want to risk giving Lotto any points. This isn't football where you just need to win against 1 opponent every week ffs.

Still, Kron ended up outsprinting Martin, bit of a miracle for Lotto to outscore Cofidis in a race like this.

I am surprised that Bike Exchange is working at the front of the peleton, seeing they have a limited squad including two stagiares.

Hirschi is going to win a lot of those Italian classics. He was on the way back all season till covid hit him before the Tour and they still let him ride it.
Yes, if he's anywhere near back to top form, he's got the perfect skillset for these races. Though it looks like the competition will get tougher after the Worlds (MVDP, Pogacar etc).

Great to see Kron back on form. Such a shame he's only been fit for half the season so far. Lotto taking him to the Tour hasn't helped their points tally either.
