It was a nice move for her, especially as she has a pretty good fast finish herself so wouldn't have been the first rider I'd have expected to see soloing there from that group.

"Sorry, Mrs Edwards. Your test came back with a rather high alcohol content."

(I know getting tipsy after a race isn't against the rules.)

Wiebes dominating the only 2.7 KM prologue in Baloise Ladies Tour:

The rest of the way down, it never jumps by more than 1 second, with several riders having same time.

Unfortunately for Emily, she didn't have quite enough watts...

(I'm sure some of you clever math-geeks can use her average speed to calculate how many seconds she lost! )

Wiebes dominating the only 2.7 KM prologue in Baloise Ladies Tour:

Did you expect there would be more than one?

A dominant victory by Wiebes. Pogačar was getting awfully close to overtaking her on number of career wins, but now she's probably secured to be at least level with him after Sunday.

Well, it was a prologue, which can max be 7 ks...
Ok max 7k then, an effort of less than a minute is just a joke when riders have to be separated by thousandths of a second I results

Why not separate them all by thousandths all the time and drop this same time nonsense, it's the same "race" after all.

And they have a 11 km ITT later in the race, although it is shorter than it's been in the past couple of editions.

It's a joke to have two ITT's/prologue in a six day race. Then of course at the Lotto thuringen tour they had a 31kms ITT which did not fit in with the race profile.

Considering the terrain they're using, this race becomes better with two time trials, in my opinion. Otherwise you'll just see Wiebes win all the stages. Now there's at least for other riders to win the GC, like we saw with Van Dijk two years ago.

You did not need the prologue.

I assume the alternative would have been no stage or a short crit race, and I have no problem with having a prologue instead of that. But then I also enjoy time trials a lot more than you appear to do.

I have a philosophical objection to two ITT's in a one week stage race. Anyway, it was good to see Kool get closer to Wiebes. Maybe Kool can get a win because she's had a disappointing year.

How about a mass start sprint to the line for 4kms ?

Only in comparison to Wiebes, she's still the 2nd best sprinter in the WWT.

one third of her races shes on the podium, nearly half the races Wiebes has done shes won. Being second to Wiebes is a great achievement.
I don't feel , and hey maybe wrong its not unknown ;) but she's not lost in sprints she was expected to win against other riders than Wiebes. It's not like she's losing to other teams sprinters.

At the end of the day, Kool has not won a race. And in 2023, she beat Wiebes on three occasions.
