I don't think its absolutely necessary to cover all races, though it's surprising this race has no live coverage, when you consider it's past history - I am more interested if their will be a collective gnashing of the teeth from the media as occurred with Gira Donne.

Sure, it's fine to not cover all races, but WT races should be covered.

Should get a demotion in status, now the precedent has been set. The race's strong prize money and the strength of previous coverage means it isn't likely to generate the same criticism as the Giro did, but it probably should, seeing as the race's organisers are far less cash-strapped than the Giro's and they just broadcast the men's Tour of Britain which is a lower status event, relatively-speaking.

They won't be matching the prize money from the ToB this year, like they have done in previous editions, either. In 2019 the total sum was just shy of 98.000 Euros, and this year's ToB had a pot of 117k. For the Women's Tour it's 37k, which isn't too bad for a women's race though (when compared to other races, and not to what I think they should be earning), but still very far from how it used to be.

It's swings and roundabouts - I never watched so much live women's cycling as in 2021 - You will get anomalies during the year like with Gira Donne and TOB - In saying that would love to have seen coverage of Ardeche.

I'm really looking forward to this; women's racing has less specialists, so most women tend to do all the races. Pick any number of winners; it really is an open race. Normally, you'd expect a rider with loads of power to shine here.....but, who knows what will happen.

Women will be hoping it's a dry edition - It will be tough riding on the parcours for the first time if it is wet.

I'm really looking forward to this; women's racing has less specialists, so most women tend to do all the races. Pick any number of winners; it really is an open race. Normally, you'd expect a rider with loads of power to shine here.....but, who knows what will happen.

Agreed, I'm probably even more excited for this than the men's race. Who will be best suited? My gut feeling is riders like Norsgaard, Hosking and maybe Vollering who can really accelerate onto the cobbles, but then there's Vos, because, well, she's Vos. I also know that Deignan has made this a target from the moment it was announced and she's also great technically, so should be a contender, then there's the cyclocrossers.

The uncertainty of who will contend is really exciting IMO

It's a race that should suit Lucinda Brand - but she's not doing it. It might be that we see the same women at the front, that we usually do, whatever the course.

There will be a three day WWT Tour of Romandie added to the calendar - I'm assuming it will be run in conjunction with the Men's Tour - This gives a stage race opportunity in the first half of the women's calendar which is sorely needed - My only worry is that Romandie has been known to have a prologue and an ITT in the men's race - Could they design a parcours for Reusser ?

According to the calendar on the UCI website, it will be held from the 7th to the 9th of October instead.
Also the women's Tour de Suisse is supposed to run over four days next year. That is great news.

Other news is that Mont Ventoux Challenge will have live broadcast.

Yeah, that is one possible issue. Otherwise the teams would need to be bigger, which then of course would require them to have bigger budgets as well, which wouldn't be easy to get for most teams. Especially not when the minimum salaries are also going up in the coming years.

Hopefully the ridiculous rule of max 160 km for a women's race is gone by then. To make it a real MSR it should be the longest race of the year as well. I'd love it to be around 200 km. Obviously most important is that it gets added to the calender.

While I agree that it should be added it really shouldn't be too short. MSR without the length is a ridiculous race, with length it has something special. So, yeah, I'm all for 200km. Or at least 180, that should be the minimum.

While I agree that it should be added it really shouldn't be too short. MSR without the length is a ridiculous race, with length it has something special. So, yeah, I'm all for 200km. Or at least 180, that should be the minimum.

They could do Turchino, the Capis, Cipressa and Poggio in less than 175 km. But if it takes place, something like 150 km between Genova and Sanremo for instance would probably make better sense (for RCS).
