Just found out the Simac Ladies Tour starts in Leuven tomorrow. On the local lap of the TT a couple years ago. I’m gonna try to ride in the morning and hope some teams do a recon lap aswell.

11 laps in 2 hours. Perfect for the spectators.

2nd lap in the Simac Ladies Tour. Lidl and Visma were pushing/pacing the peloton.

Cat Ferguson didn’t looked good. Dropped on the short steep climb with another rider. Didn’t look liked she crashed before. Maybe coming back after a mechanical. She was behind the team car.

Was inevitable. Wiebes was always in the front on the harder parts. The team looked strong.

I did 5 laps in the morning and even if the climbs are short, you could feel the legs weaken every time. They raced it hard, a lot of grimacing faces behind the first 5-10 riders.

Talked to the riders I wanted. A lot of friendly people. They asked me if I could guide them to the buses. And I saw Cat’s dog, win-win.

Mieke Docx told me after the stage she still had a little headache from the crash but felt okay. Apparently she continued the race 60km left with a concussion. So she won’t start today.

Crazy how she fought back on her own after the crash and bike change. But knowing she had a concussion, I would’ve rather see her stop immediately for medical reasons.

No protocol in place?

This is a poor effort from the peleton. The break only has 5 teams, so the rest of the teams should be able to bring back the break. Female peleton has trouble with crosswinds in general. I remember the Giro split on 9km crosswinds in the Giro Donne which was a joke!
