It will be interesting to see how she and her team choose to balance her road and off-road pursuits over the coming years.
I believe her intention is to keep mixing it up. But likely to become more road focused.
Her next race in three weeks is the U23 world mountain bike championships.

Vos got past Bredewold with one metres to go, yet Bredewold fought back. And she was involved in a crash and rode back alone to the peleton. She was the strongest.

Just found out the Simac Ladies Tour starts in Leuven tomorrow. On the local lap of the TT a couple years ago. I’m gonna try to ride in the morning and hope some teams do a recon lap aswell.

11 laps in 2 hours. Perfect for the spectators.

2nd lap in the Simac Ladies Tour. Lidl and Visma were pushing/pacing the peloton.

Cat Ferguson didn’t looked good. Dropped on the short steep climb with another rider. Didn’t look liked she crashed before. Maybe coming back after a mechanical. She was behind the team car.

Was inevitable. Wiebes was always in the front on the harder parts. The team looked strong.

I did 5 laps in the morning and even if the climbs are short, you could feel the legs weaken every time. They raced it hard, a lot of grimacing faces behind the first 5-10 riders.

Talked to the riders I wanted. A lot of friendly people. They asked me if I could guide them to the buses. And I saw Cat’s dog, win-win.

Mieke Docx told me after the stage she still had a little headache from the crash but felt okay. Apparently she continued the race 60km left with a concussion. So she won’t start today.

Crazy how she fought back on her own after the crash and bike change. But knowing she had a concussion, I would’ve rather see her stop immediately for medical reasons.

No protocol in place?

I assume it was just a little crash. Only her knee looked hurt. I didn’t even see it the first 2 laps after so thought she only had a bike change.

She got up normally/fast so I think they didn’t think the protocol was needed. They only found out after the stage.

11 riders with Wiebes and Balsamo with some teammates in front. Backstedt and Ferguson trying to bridge.

Don’t know why they just ride along with 4 SD Worx riders there.

This is a poor effort from the peleton. The break only has 5 teams, so the rest of the teams should be able to bring back the break. Female peleton has trouble with crosswinds in general. I remember the Giro split on 9km crosswinds in the Giro Donne which was a joke!

Wind speed today not so strong as yesterday, but still around 25 km/h. We might see a similar stage then yesterday with ecelons.

18 riders with a little gap. Wiebes and Balsamo in it. Ferguson and Backstedt also this time. Still 110km to go.
