so, levi is the 8th officially documented or self-admitted doper teammate of armstrong. right ?

Of course Joe Papp never made it to the ProTour even with all of his doping...

well maybe its time to start removing stuff from wikipedia that doesnt have proper sources.. :D

I wonder if lances page says hes the "worlds most tested athlete"

and im joking btw. i do not suggest removing things from lances page as some sort of petty retribution.

Although things like this on lances wiki are BS

"Armstrong has continually denied using "illegal" performance-enhancing drugs and has described himself as "the most tested athlete in the world".[56] A 1999 urine sample showed traces of corticosteroid in an amount that was not in the positive range. A medical certificate showed he used an approved cream for saddle sores which contained the substance.[57]"

the thing about describing himself as the worlds most tested athelete shouldnt be there, its a biased comment with no foundation. there is also nothing about the medical certificate being backdated.
It's an undisputed fact that he has described himself in those words.
What is the source for the certificate being backdated?

Well yes. but its also a glaringly innacurate quote. Im not sure a wiki page should include someones personally innacurate opinions of themselves.. lol

Emma O'Reilly is who went public on the details surrounding the TUE, she talked to David Walsh.

Yeah but didn't Armstrong at the start of that Tour when asked say "I have no TUE to declare".

If that's the case you could form someone's entire wiki page on how they want it to be using their own quotes.

Good points, but this has gone completely off topic. Discuss Levi and 1996, or Phinney's comments on doping, please. Or I can just close the thread.

Poor bugg3r, if the 1996 positive gets a big story it's all his fault...

Which report exactly? Just wondering if/why the BL would have it...

because the only accessible link we can find to the ban is when it was reported in an old issue of winning magazine, as US cycling have been unwilling/unhelpful in providing the info.

Back copies of the magazine are all at the BL apparently. (see about three pages back)

Sorry, was being lazy and not reading the thread.

Reason I asked is that I work in a similar sort of institution(a legal deposit library) and having a quick look at our catalogue we too have back issues of Winning :)

...but I'm not in work now until Tuesday.

If you're not in England it might be worth checking out your own national library if it's close, they all hold a hell of a lot of stuff.

I think a few people would be happy to see copies of that, my man cant get to the british library maybe for a week or so.. We are after a copy of the front cover of the issue in question, and the article confirming his ban.. :D

British Library keeps copies of every magazine published in the UK. They have a stellar porn collection because of this

I know, was just being lazy at the time and basically fishing for more info on the publication without having to read the thread :)

Will see if I can have a look on Tuesday...

They will also have a large collection of European and North American newspapers/magazines. So if you need a hard-copy of any magazine that would be the place to start. If you are in the US then the place to look would be the Library of Congress.
