@Joe Papp – No, it’s all about you. A doper, cheater, liar and criminal needs a few buddies and what better way than becoming a full-blown LA hater. I’ve read your blog and you’re dishonest and selective. Your rant about Taylor is hypocritical. BTW, Taylor speaking out against Vino, which caused this back-lash against him and unnecessary smear of Levi is by any definition omerta.

There is nothing funnier than watching a chamois sniffer get upset when the truth is revealed. This is no smear on Leipheimer. It is the truth. Period. Full stop. It is the truth that Leipheimer and his Wikipedia lackey want to hide. People have known about Leipheimer's doping infraction for a long time. It pops up from time to time in forums, but no one has been able to pin the story down. This thread settles the matter.

Phinney is a tool. He complained about Vino winning a race on a different continent that he did not even ride while he stays silent about Leipheimer, who he is competing against this week.

So these 'characters' a guise of BPC or Jackhammer/Carbonw**k/etc.?

There are several of them now. It looks like we currently have BPC, Jackhammer111, and Deadlift posting under new names. BPC appears to be using several names.

I honestly don't know how they do it. It's rather sad and worrying at the same time.

Welcome to America, where our podium girls are fat, have ugly tattoos, and wear Ray Bans from Magnum PI circa 1984.

When does the Giro start again? :rolleyes:

And where race leaders are old, bald and keep dubious company.

@Bro, @Craig –
I’m sure JP appreciates the love. Maybe he’ll toss a few more sardines to his trained seals.
I know Levi got popped as an amateur in 96. It’s hardly news today.

Levi Leipheimer doped in 1996. The media won't talk about it, but you can find the original USA Cycling press release at Pappillon along with some commentary on the hypocrisy already - unfortunately - being displayed by Taylor Phinney.

An excerpt is below."A USA Cycling disciplinary panel recommended that Levi Leipheimer receive a three-month suspension as a result of a violation of Bylaw N., Section 2, Part 4, ..."

I decided to post it up on my site so that the inevitable traffic and linking will help ensure that this newsworthy item isn't buried again. Please share the post address and link up to it.

Thanks,

JOE

He wanted to join our amateur team and the boys that knew him said No. He's not good enough and he's using sh*t that's not legal. Before 1996.

Actually, it shows clearly that Leipheimer was willing to cheat from earliest days to win in cycling...and it exposes the hypocrisy of his pseudo-teammate Taylor Phinney, who will **** "doper" at Vino' and whine that he dislikes cheaters, while remaining either ignorant of, or silent on, his pseudo-teammate's of history of doping.

If he was ignorant of it, then how can he be hypocritical?

One of my pet peeves is the careless accusation of "hypocrite," especially when you have to assume a lot of facts not in evidence to get there. It can't be simply applied whenever what someone says or does in inconsistent with or contradicts what they may have said or done (or didn't say or do) on another occasion. Otherwise, we're all hypocrites. Joe, are you immune from the accusation?

And I'm curious why you have it in for Taylor? Injudicious tweets? What level of maturity do you demand from a 20-year-old?

The issue for me was that Taylor Phinney crapped-on Vino and whined about his being a cheating doper, and said he should go away from cycling, and that he disliked all cheaters, when he spared his pseudo teammate L.L. from the same banishment - either unknowingly, or intentionally ignoring L.L.'s positive test from 1996 - details of which were all but impossible to find on the Internet but which have now been dragged more into public view.

And if you follow Taylor's tweeeets, he contends now that he wasn't crying about anyone in particular (Winning L-B-L, that is)...a revisionist at work.

now that I put the entire puzzle together, I'm with you JOe!!
what a two-face-fake fvck is Phinney- He ought to shut the fvck up & beware of keeping his secrets deeply safe, because 10 years from now, he'll be the subject to rip off here in the "clinic"......

And the boys went on to have long lucrative careers as talent scouts...

Sorry, OT but just reminded me of that B Andreu interview when she was asked about the first time she met LA in 94, did she think he was going to become the great champion he became? She (self confessed ignorant about cycling) said, no… LA, at 21 and reigning US and world champion might be a good one day rider and that’s it, or something.

@Joey_J -

Funny you bring up sardines as they've just been announced to be one of the most healthy foods one can consumefor the good Omega-3 fats...

About as topical as your post...

So when the comment was made on the other thread why didn't you pop in and confirm it?

It certainly is news today.
I had read about the rumor on this site before and had dismissed it as gossip from some involved in the local racing scene - but with the 'Winning' magazine article confirming the rumor it is news.

Why don't you write the context in which that was said? It related him to being a great Tour rider. And I stand by that. He never finished the Tour(s) he had ridden when I had met him in 1994. He may have been a good one day rider but he was not a Tour contender. That's not news. Any self-confessed ignoramous in cycling knew even that.

As for Taylor Phinney, Joe Papp is right. Phinney is either truly ignorant about his teammate(s) and should read From Lance to Landis and Bad Blood: the secret life of the Tour de France to correct that self-induced delusion or he just knows and doesn't give a rat's care.

He should be responsible for what he says or write. They can vote right? That's responsability right there.

A pro cyclist would never read a book like that!
