Went to team sky website, just to see if there's any news on Uran. And what's the very first two news articles I see :

"Near miss for Nordhaug at F-W"
"Nordhaug unlucky at Amstel"

So what about Hesjedal?

15th in AGR was fairly good. And then 21th in FW where he attacked with Nordhaug with 7-8k to go, was caught pretty early on Huy, and still managed to be just 18 seconds behind J-Rod at the finish. That's quite impressive.

Seems to me like Hesjedal is in decent shape for LBL.
Hesjedal has podiumed AGR before. 15th is not "really good" for him, it's barely decent.

Really? He isn't a sure candidate for a podium spot, I agree with that. But no way in hell? Based on his performance in AGR, Vuelta Pais Vasco and CI, I think one at least has to consider him an outsider for a podium spot.

I didn't say "really good", I said "fairly good" considering he wasn't targeting AGR this year.

Excerpt from interview Hesjedal:

VN: What are your expectations for the Ardennes? You’ve had some great results, with second in 2010 at Amstel Gold Race. What do you expect?

RH: I have been trying to get in shape and be prepared. We have a really strong team shaping up, with our Dutch contingent both winning races last week at Sarthe, with (Thomas) Dekker and (Michel) Kreder. Dan Martin, he’s looking to show himself in the Ardennes, with his characteristics, he should do well. We have quite a few riders to take a shot at it. If we ride collectively, we can expect to come up with some results. Personally, I want to get through the races in a good way and build on them. If that means I am at the front, going for result, that’s even better. I haven’t had a March program to be in top shape for the Ardennes, but I am happy at the level I am now.

VN: Will you race all three races? Which one of them do you most like?
RH: I have always been drawn to Liège. It’s the big one. It’s at end of the week. I get better as the week goes on. My best result has been at Amstel Gold Race, so I have connection on that front. And Flèche, I have been at the front on the Mur. I like [how] the race unfolds. It’s one of the best weeks in cycling. It’s good to be there and be competitive. I will be looking at all of them to play my card and contribute.

I believe Hesjedal could do well this weekend.

Number 1 for sure! One of the other 2 would be nice, especially because they're not dutch or belgian :D Not that's anything wrong with that...

I thought Nibbles was winning you over by regularly displaying more balls than all his rivals combined, DT?

oh damn, did i miss something? is he there now too?

If what you mean is is he the number 1 poster there and does he proudly quote all your arguments from here and his responses to those arguments, on the chatbox over there, then the answer is yes.

Ah, OK. I typed "pretty good" first, then went up to check the exact words you had used, and saw you had said "really good"... but in your post about Nordhaug.

Anyways. I still think 15th for someone like Hesjedal is not particularly promising.

It's beyond me how anyone can dislike Nibali nowadays. 2 or 3 years ago I can understand, because then he was riding quite passively. Now, however, he attacks in almost every race he enters. Not to mention that he, together with Contador, is the only GT winner who races to win in almost every race he enters, whether it's San Luis, M-SR, GdL or a GT.

I think DT is just disliking him on principle since he hated him so much earlier he'd feel stupid admitting he was wrong about the guy ;)

I think his tactics need a lot of work. What he did in Lombardia was just stupid. At the Giro last year he often attacked in descents to get dropped after they caught him because he wasted too much energy.

nibali is an egocentric **** his whining about sagan in tirreno alone makes me hate him. in msr he attacked and then wheelsucked which made both sagan and himself lose the race. not to mention he's overrated beyond believe.
