Quick update on Sanchez. Apparently he wasn't feeling all that well in the AGR, he had a cold. Legs were good though, and legs are still feeling good, and because the team is pushing him a bit since Anton is failing big time, he will indeed participate.

I think Gilbert will win this. Valverde has overraced and i think will not feature at the end. Albasini looks in good form so should be considered and is the best sprinter on the flat sections. Who knows Gerrans might also have recovered and Simon Clarke can make a good showing.
The Shlecks will somehow go well at this race and be animators.
Voeckler and Cunego are the unknown quantities and x-factors that will go well. Cunego i think will get in the top 3.

I think Vanendert will go well here ( succesion of climbs that might enable him to go with attackers ).
I don't think Rodriguez will be able to win as there are gaps between each climb and his attacks might not stick.
Nibali and Kreuziger will go well.

I'd say that Voeckler and Cunego are known to be in really good shape and are strong contenders (cunego more than voeckler). Even though it seems the schlecks are in bad shape, they will probably come through in this race and Frank should get a podium or at least top 5. Rodriguez should also go well here, but as you said it could be hard for him to get any breaks to stick. He just needs to wait until the very end and attack like vino did.

LBL is really open this year... No dominant Gilbert, and the usual Valverde-Rebellin-di Luca-Schlecks seems far away.

I hope for Visconti, but don´t really believe it. Maybe the race is a little bit long for him.

I really miss Sinkewitz in these Ardennes. He would have been a factor and possible winner in these races all over these last years.

Rodriguez
Cunego
Gilbert
Vanendert
Voeckler
Hesjedal
Nordhaug

Nibali

I reckon that the top ten should come from this eleven.

You are forgetting somebody very important, somebody who got top 10 in both AGR and FW, , unlike some of the people you have listed, somebody who will (hopefully) get a top 10 in LBL too.

Judging by your name it is Mollema.

A 10th place in Amstel gold and a 7th place in F-W is by no means a guarantee of a top 10 finish in LBL. I also think Mollema will top 10, but it's not exactly ridiculous not to include him in a prediction...

IMO this is Cunego's big chance to win it. He looked good in Amstel, and was in decent shape in Trentino. I assume that he didn't go all out on the two final stages, and with Gilbert, Valverde and Sammy looking just a bit off, it could be enough for the win.

You may well be right.

But is 1 day of recovery enough after a very hard Trentino? I doubt it.

Vinokourow did Trentino before winning LBL (2010).

Cunego said it suits him better racing Trentino instead doing Fleche and "sitting in a hotel for the week between Amstel and LBL"...

I think Cunego has the experience he needs, so it could work out well.

Actually it's 2 days. Also if you watched the race you could have seen he was not forcing it, which is a sign he was thinking in LBL!

Friday April 20 stage 4 of Trentino, Saturday rest, Sunday April 22 LBL and there is travel time, but then I suppose there is the evening of the 20th and the morning of the 22nd to make your 2 days?
However in the Tour I'm pretty sure this situation gets called a rest day ;)
