Okay, my list of serious podium contenders other than:
Powless, Healy, Skelmose, Benoot, Landa.

In theory I could see the other Giro QS guys get a podium as a consequence of tactics because they all seem to be in decent form. But I suppose they will have to work too much.
Powless probably won't even finish the race, certainly not in the top-10.

Ciccone and Bardet should both be viable podium contenders.

Pidcock pre-race: "I'm feeling pretty good. I've got the legs to follow Pogacar and Evenepoel."

Can't imagine him being able to follow after seeing AGR and Fleche.

[spoiler alert]

I dreamed this morning what's going to happen. Evenepoel felt really confident, so he placed a big attack at the bottom. He dropped Pogacar by a few wheels, but then got exhausted. Pogacar wasn't impressed so he countered. Evenepoel couldn't follow, and started wildly gesticulating to the other riders to organize the chase.

However, then disaster struck. There was a T-split, where one had to go to the right, but Evenepoel went left. Obviously, everyone followed Evenepoel. In the live comms, Evenepoel was actually good-humoured about it, saying that he thought it was a hairpin corner.

In the end, Evenepoel lost 24 seconds to Pogacar.

I actually could imagine that if you let Evenepoel and Pogacar solo the last 40km, Evenepoel could go faster. But I am not seeing him being so much better to drop Pogacar, with Pog having the better sprint. Maybe if he is caught offguard on some false flat or so with bad positioning. Maybe thats the situation Evenpoel should seek. And then its hard to bring him back.

Beautiful, hopefully a direct duel between the two. Rivalry starts. One wins and fans of whoever comes seconds will always have reasons "why that doesn't mean anything".

today is why the women shouldnt be racing the same day as the men.

The TV is initially showing the end of the women's race, before picking up the men. When everyone wants to see the full race between Pog and Remco

That's a strong break up the road (for a conventional break) with a lot of firepower. Le Berre seems to be a good breakaway specialist, the two germans should be the best climbers & also Dversnes, Ourselin and van den Berg are solid riders. Think they get a lot of room because no big team has someone in it.

But the playbook is now clear i guess. get a big anticipation move catching up with that break around Rosier. Probably many teams are motivated for that. Hopefully this time around they know if Pogi or Remco is in their group or not.

I'm in the USA and read that LBL was on either GCN, or Flo. I can't find it on either. How could I watch LBL tomorrow on a paid network? Thanks.
You can pay me and i will PM you a link to TIZ-cycling.

The more I think, the more I get the feeling that LBL is basically ToF 2.0. With Pig in MVDPs role and Remco being in Pog's role.
You mean, greedy pig?

Every single time, the guy claims he's good enough to follow whichever big 6 riders are starting and that there's no point in trying to anticipate their attacks. Every single time, he can't follow when push comes to shove. Must be hard to race if you have either the memory of a goldfish or the delusions of Nero.

Pidcock peacocks between races a lot.
