Is Hirschi going to show something now that he should be the leader? Personally I guess not. Not capable anymore of what he was in 2020.

Now Pog crashed and Remco can win LBL.

Then, in May: will Primoz crash, and Remco can win the Giro?

Remco said he knew how to beat Pog and it's true. Primoz's crash at the Vuelta, MVP's affair with police at the WC, Pog's withdrawal from last Liege. It all adds up perfectly. Take Remco's woodoo skills and Primoz's crashing abilities and the Giro may not end well for the Slovenian...

Maybe not today, but it is too early to count him out for the future.

He will only be 25 in August and he has had terrible luck for a couple of seasons straight.

At least we know that Pog's luck can in fact run out.

Unlike last year I think Remco should be strong enough to drop everyone on a climb when he wants to, but there should be no excuse for letting Quickstep ride a solid tempo up a climb to set up an attack on the false flat.

If everyone is now playing it everyone against Quick Step they might have a chance. Quick-Step team looks strong but they have to do a lot of work now alone ( if other teams don't get stupid. Attacking must start in 20 km,
Other teams can make a play up and down Wanne.

I mean, I know his age says otherwise but the downfall has been dramatic.

Wrist injury doesn’t sound good but I suppose he has 2 months to get ready for TDF, I remember Froome had them broken bones in TDF 2014 and managed to get to that year’s Vuelta.

Hopefully it’s not too bad, otherwise TDF is a procession.

The "downfall" is mainly down to crashes and injuries... like stated he has truly had some terrible luck. He also has an absolute super-star on his team, so it is hard to make any results in the biggest races when it is all for Pog.

Although only some minor races, he still has 5 wins since 2020 and a few top 10s in some big races as well. Dont think he is finished.

Gcn commentators can't figure out why Gaudu is at the back carrying bottles even though he said in a pre-race interview he was going to work for Madouas

When has he been lucky?
AGR, where he had a team car behind him to switch his wheel, when the car shouldn't have been allowed there.
AGR, when he was alone in the front and he could draft the lead car a coupe of times.

RVV, the polish guy that jumped in the field and took out half the peleton (he barely escaped that)

His 1st tour win, which was won, reprotadly due to roglic having the leading outfit/helm which didn't fit properly ? :D

The fact this was his 1st crash which led to a DNF.

All major participants for WP abandoning or not starting.

In the end its racing, you win some you loose some. Hopefully when you have bad luck with a crash, its not severe and you can either continue or it doesn't give issues for your next races/program. He seems to have a wrist injury, which is annoying, but should allow him to train at least. So i think it won't be a big factor for his tour preparation.

I think this will end up a dress rehearsal ITT in prep for the Giro for Rem. It's just a matter of what distance he fancies to go for. Really hope some other riders try to make a race of it, and not everybody just look at each other and decide to let him go.

What happened to Gaudu after Itzulia?…

Very strange.

I hoped he could go for the win today, when I saw him in P-N and Itzulia. Sad story. Was he sick recently?
