Those are good reasons to remember a sprint. That was hilarious, not an anticlimax.
It would have been hilarious if Alaphilippe had just cost himself victory with the stupid celebration. It's certainly not hilarious that he took two other riders out just before. Massive anticlimax.

That should be a nailed-on relegation for Alaphilippe. Maybe the commissaires will turn a blind eye.

I just feel sad for Hirschi here. Robbed for a monument because Alaphilippe can't control his antics

That wasn't a lack of control.

Ala looked over his shoulder, saw Hirschi coming, then moved across the road.

Entirely deliberate, and he should be relegated for it.

- and no, I'm no Alaphilippe hater, I like him a great deal...... except in group sprints, where he is always dirty.

Just watched that again, he seemed to notice Hisrchi coming round then cut him off.

I dunno, it looked really egregious to me, a real shame someone had to be robbed like that but Roglic taking it at the line is still hysterical.

Edit: yeah, Pogacar got dominoed when he was picking up some speed there too.

For everyone declaring Hirschi was gonna win: watch again and notice Pogacar's building speed.
You can never know for sure, but I honestly believe Pogi was going to win.

No doubt for me it was going to be Hirschi vs Pogacar.

Alaphilippe with the most blatant relegation I've seen in a small group sprint in years. Bunch sprints are a bit of a different story, with more speed and more people crowding for space, you can move around a bit more in the small groups without causing trouble, but he literally looks to see where Hirschi is and swings across half the road. Roglič shouldn't even have had the chance to make that sprint if Alaphilippe doesn't blatantly deviate to obstruct the others.
