I'm starting to like Robotlic. Losing the Tour like he did was a bit heartbreaking and winning a big one day race as a Grand Tour powerhouse deserves big respect.

How much longer do we need to watch BS like this before the ASO/UCI (whoever) starts to suspend riders for dangerous behaviour on the bike. Something like a yellow/red card system. They are doing it in cross-country skiing and I think the same system could be used in cycling races.

Have you considered taking the stick out of your rectum? Hirschi won FW a couple of day’s ago and barring accident or injury is a nailed on top contender in every hilly classic in the next decade. Pogacar just won some other bike race, one of those boring multistage ones. They are both about twelve years old. They got bumped out of a chance to sprint in one race.

It's a great example of not giving up, on the overhead he was totally out of it, it just looked like he was a young junior happy to be involved.

When I remember this sprint I picture him as having exactly the same expression on his face as on that last tour stage, you know the one where his helmets too big for him and he looks rattled, only this time its "Oh *** I won" instead of "Oh *** I lost".

I don't understand why Alaphilippe does all those jerky movements, being super animated when it's really uncalled for. Reminds me of Voeckler's facial movements and tongue wagging anytime he had camera time. Seems like pure arrogance, like hey "look at me" or something. Total unnecessary. If a rookie pro rode like that they would get lambasted, but since it's JA, not too much critique. I hope that changes. This loss is a direct result of that arrogance or attitude. He doesn't need it. He's good enough without the excess showboating. I personally like JA and am happy he's the World Champion. But focus on the basics and winning. It's bad enough you screwed up a potential win, you are screwing up other riders chance of victory. (I don't think he wins this sprint if there was no swerving, etc.)

Exactly, it's long overdue. Relegating Alaphilippe from 2nd to 5th simply isn't a punishment for endangering other riders. If anything, it almost kind of saves him from the embarrassment for celebrating to early. These kind of things need a proper deterrent.

And no doubt it will be the same hypocritical dickheads that claim all this is hilarious, who will be outraged when similar actions cause serious injury in the future.

Yes and no.

I agree on his tenacity.

But I also think his way to ride the finale proves, that he lacks tactical ability (which is understandable, given his late start in cycling).

Out of all of them, he is the guy who should not just have kept on trucking to the line, but Alaphilippe messing up himself and the 2 others, gave him a win he had already lost.

I also think a 50km solo tends to take something of your legs the day before. But he showed he can win LBL in the future. For sure

If you care so much about safety why not ban riders from wheel sucking. Hirshi and Pog got very close to another bike and one belonged to a guy we all know rolls all over the place. They are pros and know the risk

That was actually worse move than Groenewegen in Poland. Alaphilippe was lucky it was Hirshi behind him, who can handle his bike really well.
