Yeah only one day after your loved Frank Schleck told the press more or less:

"It's sad people nowadays fight to defend the 3rd place, there aren't attacks, only Andy and me"

Their supply of comedic material is like a faucet that keeps leaking and can't be fixed.;) Keep'em coming guys.

Omg, soon you'll memorize all their phrases to criticize for any ridiculous hint on mistakenness. Anyways, the team has its goals not related to Frank.

I bet if people had treated themselves so critically as they treat the Schlecks, they'd all have become least Nobel laureates.

paranoia

They are not trying to win the race or to chip way at the leaders lead, but neither are they willing to allow anybody to do so.
There's a saying in my native language and the English translation is like this. "The dog doesn't eat hay, but neither does it allow the bull, who normally eats hay to do so". Shack are playing the role of the Dog nicely here.

This World Tour points, and the awarding of Pro License based on World Tour points should be scrapped. It only encourages conservative riding.

Exactly this, thank you Asian

Sorry, maybe I can't understand anything. What are you talking about? Say, an abstract Lample gregario works on the front on flat stage whereas everybody realizes Cav will get it. And what??? You would say "WRONG. TACTICS. EVER" too?

What happened to Tony Gallopin? I see he finished waaaaaay down the rankings. Crash? Bad legs?

Stomach bug.

Tony Gallopin was sick to his stomach all last night and couldn’t eat his breakfast this morning. Dirk Demol: “We knew he was going to suffer on the Colombier. He came back to the grupetto and I hope he can survive and be ok tomorrow.” After the stage Tony was taken to the hospital in Annecy to do a more thorough check up.

Too bad for Tony, I hope he can recover and continue!

I didn't see the whole race, only the last 10 km. So naturally I must assume all the fuzz is about RSNT pulling during the last kms (for that is all I saw). If not disregard this post

Really don't see that as a big deal. They were there, they were by far the most, they pulled a little bit. Don't think it gained Wigans any more time than if they hadn't pulled and even if it did gain him some seconds on Rolland it really doesn't matter.

Plus they must assure the precious team qualification ... I know it's a silly competition but hey you get to stand on the podium in Paris, sponsor is happy and you can sell it as some kind of success.

If I understand correctly people are saying they should have ridden "against" Wigans by not contributing ... instead they rode "for" themselves. None of it makes Wigans win or lose anyways. I know many people are looking for a scape goat for the success of such a boring team and rider and RSNT is an easy target but let's be serious guys ... you can blame RSNT for many things but you cannot blame them for two things: cancer and Wigans winning the Tour. You've got to pick your battles. RSNT are the only team actively involved in the fight against cancer. Chances of healing it are pretty bleak, but making Wigans lose and thereby make this Tour interesting - that's just a lost cause.

I kept waiting for the RSNT GC contenders to launch a big and bold move, especially with Jens and Popo on the big breakaway group. But alas, no such attack from RSNT.

Maybe everyone is indeed just riding for the 2nd and 3rd places now. I hope not. But if there are no major attacks tomorrow, that would probably be the case.

And again...Bruyneel is trying to sell the lead in the team classification as a big sucess on Twitter. Having 4 guys pedalling along anonymous in a 20 men lead group and not having any impact on the race isn't exactly what you would want imo. Well at least Jensie showed something today...geat ride from the "old man".

Team lead is great. But I think RSNT can have the team lead AND still make a push for someone to finish top 5. Heck, with some luck, maybe even on the podium. But that's not going to happen unless they try (assuming someone has the legs for it).

He had Voigt in the front so wtf is he talking about pulling for the team class?

Yes, the bigger the gap with Voigt the better it was for them for Team GC, but obviously they did not want VDB2 to catch up with their superstars lying 6th and 7th on GC, there should be a rule against that. And it's not like it was the last day of the race, he'll pass them tomorrow anyway.

Why make today about Bruyneel. Voigt and the team (who are doing the actual riding) could care less about press releases and twitter. Posts like yours? WTF?

Not sure if I wrote sth like that already during Paris Nice, where he finished one stage behind LL Sanchez as second, but in each case, big respect for Voigt.

His German statements during the German TV´s witch-hunt-on-cycling years were extremely hypocrite, therefore I don´t like him too much, but what he shows again in 2012 is just great. 40 yrs old, doing a great job since mid January Down Under, now almost winning a medium mountain Tour stage and attacking or helping all the time, this is awesome.

I meant solo in terms of a stage win rather that trying to win back a lot of time. :) Hopefully Frank will be able to work together with VdB or Nibali. Sky are ready to lose a little ground. It isn't scary for their GC positions.

damn, someone, root for Haimar Zubeldia together with me! :p :)

I am!!! (drums)

Tweet from cycling weekly about 10 mins ago from me posting this one...

Fabian Cancellara has pulled out of the Tour de France today. He will return to Switzerland as his wife goes in to last days of pregnancy.

first of all best of health to Fabian's wife and soon to be baby.

from a cycling perspective I wished to see spartacus smash the final ITT.

Life is more important though and I'm sure he doesnt mind missing todays stages hej?!
