If he could sign Monfort, Fuglsang and Cancellara that would be great :)

Then Leotard is left with their old guys and would actually be weaker than before.

That's the point, the "super-team" gonna be worse team than before:D

I can't wait to see what Johan has to say

It’s almost October. This is when season planning begins and winter preparation is formed. The fact the Leopard-Shack team haven't established their team and there are questions over Becca/Bruyneel in regards to money and doping it’s not looking good. In addition the UCI is still yet to ratify the team. If things keep going the way they are it could be the Sheleck brothers looking for a team!

My oh my Team RaNT. Another day another clusterfack. I guess it's not really news though. Becca is a sketchy guy - he already looks like a brothel owner. And I guess Leopard SA was not concerned and everyone is innocent until proven guilty. This team is off to the worst start in cycling history though.

In other news - Monfort is under contract with Leopard SA until 2013 according to Bruyneel so he should also be there next year.

Wonder when the UCI will make a statement I think I said last week that the 10 days were up.

The worlds this week so 1st week in October maybe - should be time for a few more scandals.

If the team does fold who can afford and want Frandy and their baggage.

According to Danish media the headquater of the cycling team was searched too.

Becca has other offices in the same building as Leopard has it's headquarters but Leopard offices were not searched.

Police reports are stating they found 54 copies of "Its not about the bike" in Becca's safe.

One has to think that LiveStrong, and to a lesser extent CSE, might be a bit worried about having their reputations sullied by being associated with a character such as Becca.

Maybe they should try to distance themselves?

Kind of sad.
Livestrong has been linked with Pro Cycling for a long time.
But maybe it is time to move on sigh.

Or at least move from the dirty road side.
Maybe partner with the Mankini/Speedo contingent?

You are kidding, right??

Tony Martin criticizes the super merger(s):

"I see this as a negative trend. I am against mergers like this because there is practically always a team that is dissolved and then 50 people lose their job. I hope they fall over their money. The past has shown that the teams with the biggest budgets do not necessarily have the most success. Races with a few super teams and many average ones will be generally boring for the public".

right on Tony-the Monopoly in Cycling is killing the very core of the sport

The second article is interesting because it mentions Cancellara being unhappy with the situation. It appears Jon Burke, CEO of Trek, initiated the merger after the Tour de France. Several weeks after the Tour he flew out Cancellara to Trek World. By then the merger talks must have been very advanced - but apparently Cancellara found out as late as everyone else. You'd think this is something Burke could have mentioned to his top rider?!

that's the explicit "modus operandis" of Bruyneel, LA & his "people"- they do "business" behind closed doors as they see it fits without even talking to the people involved in it--remember comeback 2.0 when Contador found out about LA during the Vuelta when in fact the "masterplan" was laid out a year before? they're nasty & ruthless as the bankers in Wall street-I just cannot believe how on earth people & sponsors keep listening to those cunning delinquents...

I sure agree with your post , hfer...both parts. I'm actually starting to like Tony Martin..I think he's got a lot of grit and personal integrity. He doesn't demand anything like a prima donna and he seems to get the job done.

And I definitely agree with the way you have worded the second part...the 'business behind closed doors' describes them and their MO to a 'T'.

McCartney and Deignan escaped the chaos of the CSE collapse and join UnitedHealthcare for next year.

Others would just call it transfer, or changing team after contract or team ended.
But ok....you need this.

For RS riders it's called "rider X escaping", or "RS got rid of rider Y"
I think the "CSE collapsed" is the only consolation you have left after Johan and team structure is still around.
Never tired of pointing this out, while most people give a **** about license holders. They don't even know that something like this exists.

Your propaganda helped a little bit to understand the importance of license holders and those companies.

btw, always nicer to add a source. Which tweeter was it this time ? Benson again ?
But ok, your post looks better like this. Groupies will like it and praise you for your knowledge. lol

Basically, as they have now decided to treat this whole lark as a merge they have discovered that they have made a slight boob and they have too many riders under contract. (which we could have told them).

They are trying to flog Fuglsang as well. If they dont move i guess they are entitled to do nothing next year and still get paid.

Of course, if its not a merge and shack has folded then I dont see why its an issue. Maybe the UCI have put their foot down and said, no you cant just fold one team and join another, if you want to merge then honour existing contracts.

Thx.

I wonder if the Schleck's and Cancellara, Fugelsang, etc are still friends after this fiasco.

Jani just denied it on twitter

To clarify: JB never tried to sell me elsewhere, he'd never do that. He is a great and honest man who always tried to help.
