Well, there's this one with 1000+ pages in the clinic
http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=12137&highlight=lance+armstrong

and this one with almost 700 pages in the racing forum

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=5724&highlight=lance+armstrong

Looks like both of these came as a results of merger of other threads if I'm not mistaken

Looks like we still have a ways to go:

The official LANCE ARMSTRONG thread 2010-2011: 6.818 posts, 682 pages

I believe this must be right up there with the largest ever threads.

But at the rate this is going I believe it can be done!

/edit: beaten to it

LOL. That's got 3 times the posts, but only quarter of the views of another popular thread in the "General" subforum. Kind of shows what most people are really interested in

Bare in mind there are dozens of smaller politics threads around, some with several hundred thousand views themselves whereas there is only one thread for the boobs on bike fetish.

Which reminds me of a pretty knowledgeable schleck fan that came here last june . but ryo told him "you are not a real cycling fan" so he left.

Unsurprising. Begginers sometimes suffer here. If they are the Schlecks' fans, more likely they will leave the forum. Their cycling badly interacts with the forum regulars' system of values.

Reminds me of a highly respected forum member who once described Andy as the pope on a protestant website, saying (more or less) "he is going after our religion" (religion in this case being cycling I suppose).

Let's face it airstream we are unorthodox and while the community is gracious enough to tolerate us they must let us know at every occasion that there is only 1 true religion, all the others are necessarily wrong

I'm sorry, but there's only one Pope in the peloton, and his last name is not Schleck

Nothing wrong. Morning sun never lasts a day and life will break this system by itself. Andy will grab a couple of Tours and there will be other fans though it could be a bit different thing for sure.

Nope. I said "there's only one pope" and he tries to say "me?" in Russian, except for he uses the wrong word (i.e. something that google translate would give as translation to "me", but not how you'd ask this in Russian).

So anyway, either he's ****ing with me now, or he's had me tricked like a dumbass before, so either way, huge fail on my part

Ah, no, Fetisoff, that's a habitual Menchov's nickname among Russian speaking riders, a derivative of his surname. :) Just a comic coincidence with "me". But it sounds gorgeous for English speaker lol

Or you are making a play for what is known as "deep cover"

It is the GIRO, for ****'s sake. Il Giro isn't important enough for stupid Frank Schleck. Sad, I always thought he had a different approach than Andy.

To be fair, Bruyneel did **** him over, or punished him, depending on your POV. He didn't prepare for it.

He was seen struggling at the back yesterday. I didn't see it myself, but if so, that's two days in row. It's anyone's guess if he'll still be in the race by Sunday....

Edit: apparently he got caught up in a crash in the finale. That explains it.
