So if we can go out on a limb (thin one at that) and assume they will do a 180 the day before the Tour and win it all, will it pacify the masses? Or will that lone Tour win still leave them in the cellar of discontent for the masses?

I know I still will rank them low even if they only win the Tour but will you?

*steps boldly on proffered scrawny limb*

A win in July would at least pacify the sponsors.....and airstream

@mew, agree that Johan's actions appear equally counterproductive, he might have some opaque but nefarious plan though. Really, the whole situation is just begging for some creative and entertaining conspiracy theories to evolve.

Now it is being reported that the Schlecks back to Saxo and Contador to Radioshack could be happenning. What a turn up for the books if this eventually goes through.

I don't keep up with the details of the World Tour points system but if Shack has less than successful Tour and rest of the season, and considering the lack of results for the most part up to now, how would that effect their WT standing for 2013?

In no way whatsoever.

They almost have to dnf every race from here on out to be a possibility at losing their status, they aren't underperforming for a WT team(maybe a little), they are underperforming considering their budget, riders, and possibly having the most WT opints at the start of 2012.

Currently 10th of 18 in UCI points

No in fact you don't, but its not as dismal a picture as you try to make it appear.

Yes......it is worse.

Finishing 10th in a field sprint so that the team can be 7th in a ranking few fans even know exist provides little value to sponsors who have put millions into the team

They are 7th ;)

Why ? Because they are consistent and score in GC's a lot where you might not see any RSNT rider but they still pick up some good small points that accumulate ;)

exactly Machado in Algarve, TDU, Bakelants TDU. Horner in TA. Fuglsang Luxembourg. Just off the top of my head i am sure there are many more examples this year.

No they are not!!!
In the uci rankings BMC are ahead of RSNT.

UCI rankings count only WT races. And most of us agree that they are useless and while CQ ranking has few flaws its much better than UCI ranking.

Cycling is more than that and RSNT had more good results in those races, where BMC have shown nothing.

And you cant' disagree as just looking at RSNT's results list this year. It looks more impressive than BMC. Not by much.

But still much better.
