I don't understand these guys. Vino was wrong and served his sentence. I'm not defending those who do wrong ... but we must respect the rules of the game ... everyone deserves a second chance ... let's have fun guys ...

NOT if you are unrepentant. Sorry, dude.

Garin took the train in 1904, in the '20s riders had fans throw glass and nails on the road to let others puncture, Coppi said he needed amphetamines "most of the time", Merckx was caught 3 times, Moser made his career really legendary by working with Conconi, then came Gewiss, Festina, USPS, Phonak, T-Mobile and many others...

Might as well enjoy the show? That's what this 'sport' has always been about. Most big races were invented by newspapers to sell stories.
If you don't like it this way, you are into the wrong sport.

Can you say that unequivocally about ANYONE in the peloton? If we are being honest with ourselves, I think the answer has to be no.

No... But I'm summing up how I think people are looking at it. I ain't cheering Vino on, but I'm not saying "Off with his head!" either. Like I said I'm meh.

I don't have any illusions about the past, present and future of this sport. It is what it is.

The various transgressions of dopers seem to be treated with a differentiated degree of disdain, dependent upon their degree of contrition.
.

Yup, that's a normal part of any justice system or system seeking fairness. Should apply in cycling too.

Parrot, this sport is doped to the core. We all know it. Might as well enjoy the show at this point, because NOTHING is changing anytime soon.

It's funny after all these years of watching the pros, just 2 days ago I came to this conclusion. I mean there were times where I thought the sport was cleaning up, but now it's clear that's not going to happen. So you might as well just watch and enjoy the spectacle, if you can.

There are a couple reasons why one might be unrepentant. One, you're a total jerk and cheater. Two, you got caught doing what you know darn well everyone else is doing, and you're ****ed for being singled out.

History suggests the later is an extremely likely possibility, and I've seen no evidence of the former.

Saxo Bank not as good as expected again.

I think losing both Kroon and Kolobnev really hurt their chances in the Ardennes. Having a weak Fuglsang and a hurt Sorensen didn't help, either.
They just don't have the class to prepare the terrain in the ardennes like they did in the pavé sections, but maybe that's just me.

Radioshack are going to mega-amp there loads this year. They won't be able to stomach an in-form Vino.

Hard to do if you support clean riders who get robbed of victories by these guys.

Don't have an opinion against vino or contador. you may get your head chopped off.

That goes to my reference about jailhouse dudes watching sports. Beware the mob, where neither truth nor justice are much liked, but the spectacle and exclusively the spectacle for what it is.

I have new respect for Lance today, LOL!

I'm off now....!

Very impressive team tactics.

Vino could have been remembered as a guy who was caught in anti-doping ... but now he will be remembered as the guy who got caught, served his sentence, returned and won LBL ... great way to clear his name and his team of the JB and LA trash...

By the way, what a great picture... I can see a healthy relationship...

That's fine, you can hate the guy, but shouldn't be saying it's a sad day for cycling. Whatever his attitude was regarding his conviction he still did the time, has come back and won the race fair and square. If millar won RVV people wouldn't say its a sad day for cycling.. news flash they did the same sh!t. And irregardless of their 'attitudes' it shouldn't reflect differently on the sport.

Like others have said, cycling is what it is.

What hope does this world have? Our sports people cheat and the people who run the country are cheats and are corrupt!

I REALLY think you should consider the advice I offered a few pages back.
