What a pity but I'm happy he shows his class again, I hope he will be a important factor at TdF

Can you change the appreciation part into legend? This sucks, i was really hoping for him to win. His form looks great, i think he should go to the giro

But he just keeps on making them into worthwhile races. Today's race felt like it was going to be a snoozer, but Vincenzo almost singlehandedly turned it into an epic.

He'll win one one day. Until he does, we can just enjoy the ride as he entertains us throughout.

And out-descends Gilbert, of course. It was on TV his descending.

Damn- So close once more.... nevertheless is the courage he has that glows out of the result-maybe next year:)

After Today, he'll go through negotiations with Liqui whether or not he stays....
I honestly would like him to stay with them-BUT- the Astana proposal might be good for him after all................. just saying...

In Liquigas surely they got the most entertaining duo available in cycling right now, that is Nibbles + Sagan...funny thing is they both fell short in the Classics (3rd/4th MSR - 5th RVV - 3rd AGR - 2nd LBL)

Excellent ride by Nibali...have the utmost respect for Le Squalo!

Boonen + Terpstra was pretty fun to watch as well ;)

Nibali definitely transformed into a much nicer rider nowadays. Much more fun to watch then the cramping up of Gesink every race I have to admit
Gesink definitely was better 2 years ago. But where he has fallen and stagnated, Nibali just kept growing... I think even in high mountains it will be a big difference now

well gesink is still young and he has been unlucky, but ya i think that at the moment the gesink vs nibali discussing is pretty much done.

now onto the tour, on this kind of form i still think he can podium the tour and i think we probably just found one of the biggest animators of the race come july

I'm officially Nibali fan. Secretly I was already, but after today I'm gonna do it in public :)

He keeps improving every year it seems and he is so versatile. Still lacks a bit of racing instinct probably, but he's still only just 27, so many years to improve on that.

I really like Nibali, I really thought today was gonna make it, shame.
To be honest I think there's a lot of guys stronger than him (Gesink included, but he has to show it!), but he's a true fighter that goes into every race to win it (Andy Schleck could learn something from him).
Probably this could be a good year for him to win the Giro, but Basso is still the big cheese in the pecking order at Liquigas (form permitting). If he goes to the Tour I don't think he'll do better than a top ten, but I'll be super happy if I'm wrong.

i think there is nothing wrong with his racing instinct. If Iglisnky wasn't so superb today everybody would talk of a great solo now.

Waiting would not have helped Nibali

I was @Vaughters who said it:
Ooof... Looks like Nibali has hunger flat.

Yeah hard to say he got it wrong today. That was just a superhuman effort by Iglisnkiy. Nibali's attack on just about any other day would have won him a monument.

If the others continue to underestimate him + a bit of luck + inevitable crashing out of some of the contenders Nibali could even podium.

Trouble is, if he keeps on growing balls like this, how would he sit on his bike???
At least his descending will be even better :D

once again people keep underestimating him. it's like this for every race, he never is a top contender and at best can top 10 but then ends up amongst the best riders and fighting for the win.

he is a much better GT rider then wiggins who many people say is a contender for the tour. baring bad luck he will most likely be on the podium in paris

First I joked to myself, damn if Nibali wins this then no way the Gesink vs Nibali debate can be won anymore, but then I really hoped Nibali would make it to the line first. Sucks about his possible hunger knock, he looked so strong and all of a sudden he was empty..

Great great ride, people should ride like this more often :)
