If you got problems with the moderation take it up through pm or take it to the about the forum subsection. But shut up about it in this thread

You come in and trash the guy's thread but you can't be questioned about it?

At that point we merged, and we changed the title so it was more reflective of the content, which had drifted a bit from your original one.

As a moderator you shouldn't be involved in trashing people's threads. If they don't comply to the rules remove them. All you have done is taken side with the thread trashers.

Your core message is putting yourself up as a poster child, a leader. You are using yourself, plus all the name-dropping, girl-friend, photos, km cycled, life-style, etc, as the persuader. You mention veganism a lot, but I only see an occasional nutritional advise post, exercise advise post, etc. A hell of a lot of "I am a vegan - Look at me with.... - Look at me and what I did... - You should follow my lead".

So what? If we're going to judge posts on relevance and quality, you may as well get rid of 95% of them.

I can be attacked on my opinions, as well as my moderating decisions. However for each is a time and a place, for opinions it is the thread itself. For moderation, it is pm or the about the forum subsection.

Now, you need to stop discussing moderating decisions in this thread, or it will have consequences

So it's ok for an administrator to make a joke out of the guy's thread title. (really poor form guys)
And it's ok for an administrator to launch a pre-emptive attack within this thread justifying their actions.
But question them within this thread... and you get "sorry but you'll have to refer that to the complaints department".???

Great question. Id recommend you get these 2 books. They both have TASTY menu planners and easy to understand text.

One is fruit based "80/10/10" by Doug Graham
The next is starch based, "The engine 2 diet" by Rip Esselstyn.
See which one you prefer.

Both books are easy to get off amazon and both are capable of supporting anyone goals be it drop 400lbs or win the TDF dope free.

maybe it's like the patersberg but on asphalt...

Its checkers hill in South Australia.

Anyone here can vouch for checker being a wrecker? Ive NEVER known a hill that has more cyclists walk up it.

Check out these guys. Checkers is so steep that some people fall off. Some have time to catch a wheel in their hand they are going so slow.

Now this is how you do it with a camera and in the saddle in the 21. I would have got better footage with a higher cadence for sure.

Rip Esselstyn is a machine. I watched him (from the comfort of a truck) ride his way out of Batopilas Canyon in Mexico on a very hot day. A brutal morning where he rode his omnivorous companion into the ground on the final ramps. The route is an all dirt, 54km ride that ascends 5000ft--most of it in the final 13k. I vaguely remember sharing a plate of machacado with him the night before.
True story.

thanks i will check out the rip esselstyn book. for the record i think militant veganism is stupid and annoying but i am willing to experiment with the fundamentals and see how i feel after 4 weeks.

and yes checkers is tough, but it is just a hill and walking up a hill brings dishonour to your family. if these people were not able to ride it they should have taken the detour around it.

i think a lot of the 'im going to become a cyclist for the TDU week' crowd have not yet worked out that proper preparation prevents p*ss poor performance. nb driving to hyde park for a coffee with your bike on the roof racks is not really considered proper preparation.

Could be something in that, I heard in radio interview with this guy who cut out fructose from his diet, not glucose or naturally occurring sugars and he had substantial weight loss, most of the items you mentioned are heavy on the fructose. Apparently too, one can get a pretty harsh withdrawal if you go on a fructose free diet, headaches, nausea the lot..

Fructose isn't a naturally occurring sugar?

Only true if fruit and honey are considered unnatural.
