What we have here is what I'd call the "little king" syndrome. We all want to be kings(or queens) of our domain(us and everything we have interest in). We want everything we see, hear, touch, taste and feel ..... on our terms . . . and when those completely arbitrary those terms are not met ..... we react in an infinite number of ways. We don't want to be told how to run our little empires.... yes?

It's the human condition. It can drive us to war... not only in the literal sense, but also the verbal and emotional sense. Verbal warfare is no less damaging than dropping bombs.

If we are willing though.... we can drop the "crown" and the futile attempt to keep it, so to speak. The truth is .... there is no crown . . hence it has no power over us or anyone else. We don't have power over anyone .... let alone any thing. We're all along for the ride .... life. I wish we could all have great respect for each other ... even in disagreements ........ but that's my own foolish wish for my silly empire in my mind.

I think Im gonna be laughing all day with that pic!

Yeah its true, Ive been a vegan for coming up 10 years and can keep up in training with who ever. Thats my point. Status quo says you gotta eat a cow for breakfast and follow it up with its udder juice or you will not have the strength to lift the TV remote control and fart into the couch all day.

Im super fit, lean and strong and 100% drug free. I share what the leading cancer researchers, cardiologists, nutritionists and coaches all promote. I think it is maybe sound advice.

Hey, at least a few thousand people on this forum now know that they ACTUALLY HAVE A CHOICE in regards to their health & fitness and its not dependent on some product or purchase or wu wu spiritual fad gimmick.

Example of fantastic point that could be well crafted into the basis of getting a lot of people new to the idea to listen longer and maybe learn something:

Example of a comment that is very easily disproved and appears to be an outright lie:

Leading researchers do not promote veganism. They promote a healthy lifestyle that is heavy in fruit, veg and grains and light in meats and dairy etc. There are quite likely some vegan researchers that promote the vegan diet but this is not the same thing. Also, whilst a healthy diet has been shown to reduce cancer risk - eating fruit and veg specifically has been shown to have no effect on top of that.

Example of the type of over hyped (and clearly incorrect) comment that makes a major percentage of people reading your posts here dismiss you:
Status quo says you gotta eat a cow for breakfast and follow it up with its udder juice or you will not have the strength to lift the TV remote control and fart into the couch all day.

I am not aware of any mainstream information source that advocates eating steak for breakfast. You have gone so far over the top in this comment that when you look down you can't see reality. If instead you had simply said that your above quote disproves the idea that meat and dairy are necessary sources of protein then you would have likely won over a lot of people.

As has been said before - the message is a quite good one but its the delivery that hurts it.

Please show me the research, in this topic, that way we can at least have some debate instead of you just spouting nonsense.

Also it is quite arrogant of you to think that people would not have known of a choice unless you were around.

ANd without answering normal questions about your statements you follow them up with non-sequiturs and pictures without adressing the questions themselves, don't you see how that ensures that you are not taken serious and is seen as a self-important arrogant ***?

That Leopard kit is classy. Really like it. Do they know that riding on the footpath is illegal in Oz!
Are there laws against stalking there, too?

You really are a self absorbed douchebag. What the does this pic have to with anything? I shudder to think about how many mirrors you must have in your house. Why don't you get a blog to post pictures of yourself instead of spamming these forums?

Oh, please Bro. Don't encourage this type of behaviour.
On a lighter note: I just taught my seven year old the word, "megalomaniac". He wanted to know about Oprah, but...

Ahh man...great catch!!! :D

And, dare I say, apropos to this "discussion"

+1000 to Martin's, Barrus', and Ped Squares' comments, although it's played out numereous times in this thread to be a waste of time....

(p.s. PS...feel free to go back to lobbing sarcasm...)

Dude...seriously? :(

On about 1000 different levels this comment has nothing to do with anything on this thread. Not the least of which is the fact that verbal warfare is FAR LESS damaging than dropping bombs...

When did they stop making spoke protectors out of metal? And the rear dropout looks like one of those cheap stamped steel jobs that were used on department store bikes.

I think we can say that, Archibald. If he came here and wrote that, after a decade of a strict dietary and fitness regime, he felt like he had some advice that we might want to consider, I think he would be well received. I would show interest even if I chose not to adopt his routine. We can all learn from others. But the approach we get is that we omnivores are fat, bad for the environment, and all but believe in a flat earth. Meanwhile, he is not only fit but fabulous and people cannot resist telling him so any more than he can resist telling us. As for the endless stories and photos about his contact with professional cyclists, well I think it's great that he gets to hang onto the pros if that turns him on. I don't think the stories serve any purpose beyond self-promotion, but that's not nearly as annoying as the lifestyle preaching. I figure the photos are taken by the girlfriend.

Normally I just lob sarcasm and derision at fruitboy but this is my attempt at a serious post.

I don't have a problem with any of that and can both agree and see where you're (and Barrus) coming from.
I didn't bother to watch the vid because from reading his posts in the vegetarion thread, i've pretty much got the jist of his tale.
as for all the name dropping and photos of hanging with the pros, that's just mere puffery and i really switch off when it comes to that... good luck to him with it though - i'd probably try to do the same if i was home in adelaide right now...

i know what you're saying with the "preaching", which is partly why i didn't worry about watching the vid. same reason i don't watch the likes of jimmy swaggart n co...

yes, I watch the Hell of the North (the RACE) every year - at least twice.

'A Sunday in Hell' which is the movie I assume you meant was in 1976 so obviously that is very current. <sigh>

Given that it was you and not me that made the assertion that people say its necessary to eat a cow for breakfast. How about YOU come up with the reference to someone doing so recently (actually I will make it easy for you - just make sure it has a 2 on the front. ;) )

All you have done with that post is utterly prove my point.

Yeah, I think they're more aero. That rear brake is pretty hot too.
