A bit weird, but I read he had some troubles with a teeth and besides that he has troubles with his material?

That's weird, especially when there's no official explanation. Can't they just say "he has problems with his teeth and therefor can't start as was planned? (Or did they? I don't see much social media.)
UAE seems to communicate about those kind of issues (Ulisse). But to me it is strange Hirschi is very much missing from Team UAE’s social media. There have been introduction interviews of Majka, Trentin and Gibbons for example.

Hirschi's winter preparation has most likely been hampered by his sudden departure from Sunweb.

But there's still a lot of pressure on him to perform, i.e. this is a rider who lit up the Tour last year, won la Flèche Wallone & "almost" won Liège 4 days later.

So he should be up there with the likes of Alaphilippe as one day race favorites.

And got a medal at the World Championships, let's not forget.

In a Dutch podcast Thijs Zonneveld mentioned that UAE is also still a bit sceptical about racing because of his issues with Whereabouts and not answering questions at DSM

That actually makes more sense than the knee problems mentioned on the sporza live coverage.

He is one of the teams big names. It does not make sense why he has not started the season yet.

I guess we'll see wednesday how good/bad his form really is.
He did a very good ITT in Itzulia and I thought his form building is on point. But he's been disappointing since. His form clearly isn't on the same level it was last year in the Tour and the Ardennes. Still FW is the race most suited to his abilities and if he'll achieve a top result, he'll do it there.

I think the late start (due to injuries apparently) effected him. His form is getting better but he is not anywhere near his form last year at the ardennes. Hope UAE has learned their lesson: they should ride for pogacar. Point.

I wonder how he feels about the domestique duty, certainly it's not as exciting as last year's breakaways and stage wins. But then again he did sign up for it, so I don't know. Hopefully he gets some chances in other races.

They said previously he would get chances but I guess the crash probably put a stop to that. His form wasn't really stage winning level either.

It hasn't looked like he's anywhere near the shape of last year, so he might be happy to have a job to do

I think there may have been a few fist pumps yesterday from those with Hirschi in their CQ team. Let's hope this is the beginning of "normal service resumed".

IDK exactly what kind of hip surgery he had but for me it was a lifechanger to be pain free. It took a year to get strength back though. I had a labrum tear.

Don't wanna say it out loud but I've never seen him so lean.
And it shows in his climbing. Today's stage in Coppie e Bartali was a proper mountain stage, he attacked in the final and almost won.

Bodes well for future goals.
