Wow, Gerrans finally actually justifies the hype. Ever since 2009 he's been talked up as a potential winner of nearly everything, and always managed to ride completely anonymously. He used to be a great attacking stagehunter, and I really felt he'd lost that instinct, instead relying on staying in the bunch until the last.

This time, he had the guts to work out the move to go with, and remembered how good he had been tactically back in '08 and '09, but with the strength he's had in 2012. Great win. Not the most inspiring, but a great win nonetheless.

Two stupid winners in a row. BMC really can't seem to do anything in the classics without Gilbert.

What is stupid? He won, he was there at the end and rode a smart race.

Nowt stupid about that.

Was there nothing Cancellara could have done to get the other two in the break to work?

Biggest fail by Nib, no work and still only comes third, at least Gerrans won.

Nibali had nothing in the end. Next year 100% for Sagan, anything else must be considered stupid when you have him on the team.
