“To be honest when Cavendish was on the market with us we were still very much busy with Kristoff. So by the time Alex decided he would move then Cavendish was no longer on the market, and we moved on to signing other riders.”

Kristoff to Uno-X was a done deal back in June already, according to media reports, so if this is true. Cav must have signed months ago as well

His asking price should be:
  1. a TdF spot;
  2. a bit of a lead out train, or at least 1-2 decent lead out riders that can guard / position him;
  3. a fixed paycheck for the first half of the season (everything is on the Tour anyway) + a good racing calendar;
  4. a bonus system for races after the Tour so he's still motivated and can score points for the team.
He's in no position to ask for anything

he has a potential tour stage on offer.
And with our without delivering on a stage win, he will be at the center of attention for the whole Tour. So he's worth something in terms of publicity, and maybe something in terms of wins / points. Last but not least, he is an example for young sprinters. They can still learn a lot from him.

So for a smaller team, he has a lot to offer, imho.

Lates rumors says that Human Powered Health could be an option.
They have 22 riders on contract, but not really a team that consist of experienced lead out guys. Could possibly do something with Peak and Aniolkowski?

If they are to sign Cavendish they should probably also sign 1 or 2 more riders to try to maximize his possibilities. Cees Bol should still be available right? Cav + Bol would probably be expensive for such a team, but the two of them together would really lift the team to be a serious contender for a Tour spot.

Poor Uno-X.
