Either of those guys will force a response from UAE. That's the JV ticket to a podium IMO; especially if they get Primoz to respond. Waiting in hard driving uphill echelons driven by UAE doms will peel away some contenders but if they don't want a repeat of the Giro they gotta attack and take risks.

Looked like a solid performance today. His progress is fairly measured but very consistent.
Great TT but i don’t know if it will be enough of a buffer on the last 3 stages vs the more specialized climbers.

This guy might be coming into form at just the right time if Vingegaard can't be fit in time for the Tour. Ironic as this would be similar to how Vingegaard rose when given an opportunity when Roglic got injured in 2021.
I believe so.
One wonders what kind of team Movistar is by not enforcing his contract.

Movistar don’t deserve him. Just as Movistar didn’t deserve Nairo Quintana. At least Matteo Jorgenson got out of Movistar while he still had his best years ahead of him.

Unfortunately the damage done today to Visma almost precludes any serious Tour podium aspirations they may have had. Someone could get lucky and escape in a long raid but the odds just went down to single digits.

Matteo had serious focus today and looked tired at about 3km to go. He's not at his best but he handled Bora's tempo just fine. One more stage for a possible win and then he can deal with the JV reality. What can he and Kuss get out of the Tour?
He jumped 3 times and the final was to answer Roglic and he almost had enough in the gas tank to go by!! Losing by a couple of feet to Roglic today was really really great. MJ probably got an even bigger confidence boost. His ITT times are very respectable and he is riding at a really high level all year. The hill today destroyed most everyone, Jorgenson part of the elite!!
Who knew office park crits in San Francisco were a stepping stone!!
Well, he answered that with the legs today. Brilliant ride.

I'm still not yet sold on him performing over a GT like he did here, but what he did here was very impressive and who knows what his ceiling is.
Jonas will have to watch out!
