As a follow up - I think that if there is such a 'MOD' (feature) that could allow a member to cool off from a specific topic, thread, etc. for a few hours, days, etc. then it should be looked at. I've noticed some threads get very heated but also that the same users can post in other threads at the sametime in a more restrained way. Anyone think that is worth looking at?

The answer is no, It is not possible. Not with phpbb. Such MOD's only exist for vBulletin, which was our previous software. The closest thing we have is banning users from an entire sub-forum, and it's not a straightforward, clear feature as it requires a lot of workaround to make it happen.

Just a suggestion.
Would it be possible for mods to - if they come across a situation like this - to go in an tell a poster that "maybe you should take some time off from this particular thread."?
It wouldn't count as a warning, and would of course be the poster's own choice, but sometimes having someone tell in - in a friendly way - to maybe take a bit of a break, might help...
(I'm not entirely sure this made sense...)

You do realise that Einstein never actually said this?

No I did not...if I did, I wouldn't quote him.
It's one of my fav sayings / quotes...when I searched originally for who said it, the results said Albert.
Happy to be corrected to put things straight.

I made that post so the mods would respond and exactly explain the reasons for my ban ...they cant. They are just generalising and threatening me with a longer ban.
That' is just a complete white wash of the facts . I'm always happy to admit I'm wrong . Are mods never wrong?
This is the Member Suspension Appreciation/Depreciation Thread which is why I am posting this thread or will I get a ban for expressing my disappointment in the mods and their hypocrisy i.e. why has know one got a ban who made personal attacks on me Like Piti above and like Taxus who called me a nobody and like Hitch who called me a "fake poster"
hypocrisy seems to be rampant .
