Not that I know very much (if any) about how this works, but wouldn't it (the glow-time after he left China) also depend on how many days he ate meat in China? I'd guess that if it took 2-3 days after one meal (Assumption as I don't know which amounts the 2-3 days refer to), then it should take longer if he ate plenty for a whole week, right?

WADA issued warnings. I'm sure if your living depended on it you would take measures -eat fish or take protein supplements et.c

According to one of the posts here, most riders ate meat every day.

If that is true then the IQs of riders must be really low. But also Mick Rogers if it was Contaminated Meat should be able to point to others who dined with him.

But what if only the podium in Japan Cup was tested for Clen?

Doesn't help a whole lot to say a lot of others also were glowing, if they weren't tested....

I'm devastated. I truly am devastated. :(

You're devastated that a guy named in two previous doping scandals, that has one of the worst possible doped reputations of anyone in the history of the sport, has been nailed?

That doesn't reflect very well on you.

Rogers has been around a lot of dirty teams and riders. At 33 hes unlikely to return to pro-cycling after a 2-year ban. So, to save some modicum of dignity should he not be looking to help clean up the sport (once he finally gives up protesting his innocence)?

In other words, should the UCI or WADA (or whoever) not try and court him as some kind of 'states witness'?

Well that is Rogers misfortune. If he was stupid enough to eat meat in China after WADA issued a warning then he has 2 years out of the sport.

Rogers is long overdue a leave of absence from the sport.

In that case I'm still waiting for the plausible explanations for not doping whilst paying Michele Ferrari tens/hundreds of thousands.

for me it deos look like that pure foolishness not to take out all the risks, likely he gets at least a year, the fact he refused to speak about his past might not help him either.

did anyone come across the actual clen concentration measured in rogers' urine sample ? i perused the available articles and did not find any.

a lot of unnecessary speculation (not the definitive conclusion on whether he doped) may be put to rest by this small technical detail !...

as many may remember, while conti's urine clen was very-very low (at the end of the day i changed my mind to a belief conti indeed transfused a 'glowing' bb), his case is very different from rogers'.

the reason for the above statement is based on 3 scientific easily verifiable facts: (i) we more or less know clen's clearance rates from human body (ii) the number of days rogers claims passed between the fatal chinese meal and the test
(iii) the sensitivity of the the tokyo wada lab test (that is, if it's comparable to the german lab).

a relatively large concentration after more than a week would indicate with high probability that rogers lied.

a reverse situation would require a more thorough investigation and increase the possibility it was the meal.

We will just have to see how it unfolds. Truth is a highly suspicious rider has been found doping in what seems a foolish deed. It's not the first guy who is caught not after an obvious high-octane fueled performance but totally unexpected at a Save the world peace race while using some non performance enhancing drugs which nevertheless are on the banned list.

I think calling Clenbuterol non performance enhancing is a bit of stretch.

Burns fat like crazy at the very least.

It's true value is that it opens the airways. It's actually a treatment for chronic asthma.

I sense a tue coming in at Aigle any time soon now.

Unfortunatly for Rogers the UCI regulates the types of asthma medication that can be used.

Hard to find a medicinal purpose for a drug that was made for horses! and not humans.

He should have stuck with the ol' and approved salbutamol puff then.
