Re: Re:

Don't put us all in the same boat please. A fan of Alberto always, a fanboy, never. All my opinions are based on what I see with my own eyes, never altered in any way because such and such rider beat one of my favorites.

I'm actually gutted Landa is out, it's almost on par with losing AC in the '14 Tour. I was really looking forward to the high mountain stages, now not so much.

Everything crossed for Bala now.

Is Landa overated? or still has a lot to learn? Its a tough one to judge. I am yet to see leadership qualities and I really think he is in the wrong team. Riders make decision based on big bucks first, guess one has to eat. But in terms of long term strategic goals, Sky was really the wrong place to go. Nibs made the wrong choice as well. Landa should have gone under the wings of an experience DS or GC guy or a team that cares about other GCs (giro or Vuelta), not send team B or C to these events.

I had a feeling Sky's goal was always for Landa to replace Porte as super domestique in TDF for Froome.

You can't say Sky didn't care about this Giro. Their original Giro team at the start of February was excellent and they even sent Roche and Nieve to the Giro instead of resting them for the Tour to make sure Landa had a decent team.

Yes you can " they don't care about the giro" :D

Its all about the egg faced git wizard froome winning the tour .

Ugly personal insults.

He/sky knew the other day when he got dropped that he was not going to win this race. He's been pulled so he can rest and be Froomes bit%h at the tour .

Yes, the guy who decided to ditch Aru and go for his stage win at last year's Vuelta agreed to drop back 6 mins to quit his role as team leader for the Giro so that he could work for someone else.

Damn, I wish I understood Sky as well as you do Ray :)

Landa will ride the Tour I'd say .....i certainly would if I were him
He can help Froome and do a top GC ...maybe he needs to be the second man to perform ....Anyway it would be great experience for him and its possible he gets on the podium or even if anything happened to Froome take over...

He has only ridden a week in the Giro so he could be ok for the Tour

We are talking about Sky here. The sci fi team. The team who reinvented cycling :D
Come on. Sky are all about Froome and they knew full well after Landa got dropped the other day that he was not going to win this tour.
See these are the things that when you actually ride a bike up a mountain you can see that a rider is struggling.
When posters who just sit there eating doghnuts and make comments that he looked great in a rain soaked TT shows they have no idea about riding a bike. Landa got dropped the other day and was lucky to get back on. This is not GT winning form . Wake up Landa fans your boy is just a like for like replacement for LRP.
So to the tour for Landa. Sky gave him a chance and he did not deliver so now he's put to better use " domestic"

Speaking with reporters beneath the signing-on podium in Campi Bisenzio on Tuesday morning, Landa had shown no signs of illness as he reported for duty, even telling a Danish television crew that he planned to attack on the way to Sestola

:D Domestic all the way baby , Not good enough over 3 weeks.

This is old news Ray, try and keep up! :D

To be fair he's hardly going to tell everyone he's unwell so Astana and Movistar can drill it from the start is he?

Looks like Sky have got the 'Richie Porte' role sorted for July.

Landa does not go well in the Vuelta at end of season...he has said so himself before

THe tour could be great for him and SKY

Does not go well maybe if he raced early in season..

He literally raced zero this season. I'm not sure Landa is needed at Tour when Sergio Henao is back to the team as well.

All eyes on the Vuelta.
Should be the major favorite there.

:D like he was for the giro :D Its LRP all over again. Landa is not good enough to win GT. Never will be.
I
That's such a load of crap, Landa would have beaten Aru if he wasn't so loyal, he climbs better than anyone with the exception of Mr Quintana, Landa will win a GT and probably several, he's far better that any GT contender outside of the big 3 simple as, He has proven time and time again that his climbing will win GTs like Pantani's did

He has proven that you can't count on him! He climbed good in one race, finished third, and that's about it! You can't count on him 100% that he'll deliver, like you can with proven GT riders. He's just unstable.

That's cause proven GT stars are in their 30s....he is not...

Sometimes riders make transition you know.

Henao will not be back

Well, he thinks that the case is gonna be sorted out before the end of the Giro and aims for a return at Dauphiné or Suisse, as Sky is pressing UCI to give an answer and he says that if he was in other team he could be competing, he isn't competing due to internal policy. Interview with two days.
