Right, be honest with me here, people.
Who - of the 24 people who picked the other option - looked at the poll, and picked 'other' while thinking "Nibali!"?
I did, absolutely, especially when it was known that would rain for the whole first part of the race.
Was more wishful thinking than anything else, but when I saw him after 5/6 hours always in the first part of the peloton and shouldering like a sprinter for positions, I knew he was feeling very good.
You could clearly see he couldn't wait for somebody to attack to get an excuse to go.
Still, had to have absolutely everything going his way to win it, but huge huge balls and pure class are undeniable.
What a rider!

In terms of route changes I don't think it is too needed. The winner is usually up in the air here and that's quite nice even if the action usually boils down to a much smaller window than other races. I think what's interesting for me after this race is whether or not we now see a few more people inclined to race it diferently having seen someone else actually pull off a successful solo attack on the Poggio again.

If Nibali is racing then he's always on my list of potential winners, but, honestly, I picked other because it's Milano-Sanremo.
