Regarding the race, with Brennan out, Wout and Matteo will probably be more agressive.
laporte is the captain now !
Campenaerts in is probably an advantage for van Aert, as he will not hesitate to work in G2 in case of a split on the Cipressa - which I honestly think van Aert is unlikely to make.

No clue how they will use Laporte. I personally see him as Visma's "best chance" for a win as well, but I guess it's more likely that he'll be used as a domestique.

they dont have the strength to force the race or a favorite in any scenario , so they should stay back and let the race come to them

if ten riders or so make it over the poggio ( or get back to the front after the descent ) they should have more than just van aert there and then roll attacks or wheelsuck and bank on laporte for the sprint if he survives

its only if they collectively get left behind on cipressa that they need to do any work

yeah, but van Aert will still need (and get) someone to guide him into the Poggio. Whoever's job that is, is normally done for the day afterwards - and it's of course one more suited to Laporte than Jorgenson, for example.

ugh , i hope laporte wont have to babysit him

if those three are the only ones left after cipressa the group should be small and all three should have a free role until the final km

Campenaerts was one of the strongest behind the 3 riders on the Cipressa last year. With the way he’s riding he should be not far off Laporte and Van Aert. He could be crucial in their race. A shame Brennan is sick and I think Laporte will be the best card to play tomorrow for Visma.

That moto pace recon from Pogi (with Cipressa under 9’) was with local Bonifazio, who went crazy fast before in the downhill. Not a bad guide for the descent. Hope he doesn’t go over the limit trying to stay/go away solo there.

Cort: If Pogacar tries, it won't be Cipollini who wins all of a sudden.

I dunno... I think Cipollini winning would be a surprise, even if Pogacar doesn't try...

Wout is the only one of those three who have dropped Pogi fair and square in Paris, after three weeks of fiddling around France. Still probably most powerful of them, just needs appropriate help/lead out to the very end.

Is there any expectation from Danish press/fans that Pedersen is going to be good already, need to know for my fantasy stuff.
