I had a bit of a situation which meant I couldn't watch live at the last minute, what an edition to miss...

After today, I'm even less sure how Pogacar is supposed to win this one so long as Van der Poel is there because today proved he can't make it too hard for him. Genuinely, for the first and only time in his life, he would need a teammate in whatever elite group he pulls clear on Cipressa.
It would help to have a better team. LOL. I can't believe how can they have only one guy pulling hard on the Cipressa. And then improvise with Narvaez. This is the best team in the world. Surely they can come up with better riders!
Secondly, even if the scenarios look more difficult for him, they need to change the strategy.

As we didn't get to see the peloton on the Poggio, I checked for some (fan) videos or pictures, but all I found were some from the descent. Looks like we didn't miss much. They more or less stayed together, and Pidcock/Pedersen/Powless were leading the group

Ok, been out since watching to the Capi, now watched the last 2km so have no idea how those three shed the competition.

But what’s not to like, the best 3 riders in the world in my view got away and fought out the finish. This race suits Van de Poel so fair play he got the win. Chapeau to the podium.

Watched it from entering the Cipressa. Quality finale. Right results for every man in this trio.

Is Ganna going to Roubaix, no? He should, would be nice to see how that goes. But does that come too late for this form, could he hold it that far, he was already top shape in Tirreno.

VDP is in his prime atm. It's interesting to see what he does now with Flanders and Roubaix? Pogi could beat him in Flanders I think but not surprised if Roubaix is same 1-2 as today. But cobbles and especially Roubaix cobbles needs huge amount of luck tbo.

Yes, that's his goal, he will be there with Tarling, think he should/will skip Flanders because he needs rest and it wouldn't end well.

It didn't occur to me earlier, but Alaphilippe was completely anonymous today.

I keep hoping to see him back to his best and at the pointy end, but maybe that's just a fool's hope.
