100% I don't see it going differently this time.Yeah, I definitely expect him to be faster this year (depending on weather conditions) but the same goes for Pogacar.
They are pretty used to flat roads tbf.Two Dutch wins in Sanremo today. Maybe we'll do our national championships in Italy, since our government actively tries to prevent any sort of bike racing at all from happening.
I watched the start of the Cipressa again, and Pidcock was on the wheel of the Cofidis rider that crashed, so at best was held up, or at worst crashed himself. A shame, as based on Strada, he would have given a good effort to stay with Pog…I don't understand how Pidcock and Pederson were dropped so easily. It made things for MVP so easy!
This is what makes the cruel beauty of this race ! 300 km, more than 6 hours slaving on the bike, and only a handful of riders getting a glimpse of glory !It's kind of funny how everyone did over 6 hours on a bike and only 3 guys were on TV in the final 20km.

idk i sometimes think people forget what a classics monster VDP is. Even for Pogi he's hard to get rid off if it isn't an actual climby race. Heck even that RVV win in 2023 Pogi was near cramping on Paterberg.People will keep shaming MvdP for cooperating with Pogacar when this is the end result every time he manages to stick to his wheel.
VDP went from near 300m himself.. the long sprint *** is overrated trope. It's not an actual weakness. Not when he's on a good day. He lost "long" sprints before because he was simply cooked because of the race itself. Now he wasnt cooked and easily wins. You've gotta go long against VDP like Asgreen did, not do whatever those lot just did but to be fair it probably didn't matter anyway.
counterpoint. I have the feeling the entire year so far MVDP is the strongest he's ever been. This race is clearly favouring more MVP. Ronde has a lot more vertical meters.
If by "revenge" you mean re-humiliation after winning RvV then I think you might be right.I think we all know Pog is going to get his 'revenge' in Roubaix. That's my prediction anyway.
RVV, possibly.I think we all know Pog is going to get his 'revenge' in Roubaix. That's my prediction anyway.
VDP even confirmed that in the interview. He was feeling strong and looking to counte rat the top. He was never in problems. The meter he left halfway the climb was because of the upcoming corner...MVP wasn't on the limit, otherwise he wouldn't attack in the end of poggio.
That's because we live in a reality where Tadej Pogacar is an infallible God who can do no wrong.I don't understand the obsession with the UAE teammates. Nobody is talking about the aplecin squad. It was a Mano a Mano battle of the top 3, having vermeercsh or oliveroa wouldn't change that
There is no need to be telling on him like this. How did you do over the holidays?Did Ganna post his Cipressa file? His watts must've been through the roof, he's walking around at 85kg after putting on a lot over the winter.
He's even more unlikely to drop VDP there. Have you seen VDP's cobble cornering technique? No chance.I think we all know Pog is going to get his 'revenge' in Roubaix. That's my prediction anyway.
Ganna also closed the first gap on the Cipressa for vdP and had no motobike in front of him to get a slight draft of the Poggio, just putting it out there.I don't understand the obsession with the UAE teammates. Nobody is talking about the aplecin squad. It was a Mano a Mano battle of the top 3, having vermeercsh or oliveroa wouldn't change that
I think Sanremo is unironically where Evenepoel has the best shot at beating Pogacar.I wish Evenepoel had been here.
