Kind of the expected outcome, this race needs more distance and I hope the UCI sees it too.
More than a bike length.Balsamo not well placed. Wiebes in the end. Closer than I thought.
Much lamer attack on the Poggio though...Basically the same finish as the men's race last year.
Correlation does not equal causation.Kind of the expected outcome, this race needs more distance and I hope the UCI sees it too.
Red Rick confirmed fan of ASO 100k mountain stages.Make it longer and the domestiques will just be weaker.
No. The solution is not to make every race as hard or as long as possible. I don't know what you expected, this is as exciting as the San Remo finale is going to get.Kind of the expected outcome, this race needs more distance and I hope the UCI sees it too.
The USPs of men's Sanremo are that it's as long as possible, and that it's tense like no other finale from Poggio onwards. This iteration of the women's race is nothing special in terms of length and Wiebes was never even remotely in trouble on the Poggio. Therefore it has failed to fulfil the role the men's edition does, exciting ELB attack notwithstanding.No. The solution is not to make every race as hard or as long as possible. Soon goat attack rangemeanwhile the men still have another 113km to go![]()
Unsurprising finish. I was hoping ELB would hold it, but no dice.
Exact same thing as Philipsen last year. You just don't like the fact Wiebes won. That's it. The final was just as exciting as most Sanremo finals for the men.
