No. The solution is not to make every race as hard or as long as possible. I don't know what you expected, this is as exciting as the San Remo finale is going to get.
The USPs of men's Sanremo are that it's as long as possible, and that it's tense like no other finale from Poggio onwards. This iteration of the women's race is nothing special in terms of length and Wiebes was never even remotely in trouble on the Poggio. Therefore it has failed to fulfil the role the men's edition does, exciting ELB attack notwithstanding.

You just don't like the fact Wiebes won. That's it. The final was just as exciting as most Sanremo finals for the men. A race Mark Cavendish has won, remember.
