Don't be silly. This is CN where there is one set of rules for Armstrong bots and another for the rest of us. They like posters who think like them.

It's great to be so pragmatic, but this will set precedent and pattern for future threats, possibly leading to further deletions. I can't see that as a good thing for outspoken people who speak their mind without being just rude. Modding is OK(there were many simply offensive post in that thread that could've been deleted), but erasing everything not because of your own rules but because of external legal threats for me is a very sad thing. This means you are not faithful to yourself and I wonder what will become of this forum.

I feel this was myopic, short-term, thinking that could backfire in ways you didn't imagine.

It's not a precedent, it's happened before and it's essentially about what's legal and what isn't. In order to avoid a potential legal case we've decided to pull the thread, and that's the measure of it. In general I think the forum is a haven for a lot of free discussion, and that will continue.

agree with Dan on pulling it as the aussie lawyers have obviously been busy with other forums as well... whereas some smaller ones have simply deleted names being named, there's no way that will happen here.

Edit: Just to clarify I've called airstream a troll a few times after he sent me PMs baiting me and insulting me. But this is months ago so he's just trying to make me look bad
