yeah, it's indeed not working and I believe it won't work with the Dr. neither. I had to try though.

Firstly - my sincere apologies to all forum members, I cannot believe the lack of profanity in my PMs.

Eshnar,
You wont know until you ask. I am more than happy to abide by the rules - indeed that is why you guys had to make up some to actually ban me.

The current mods problems are that you have no idea how to actually moderate and your sole answer is to threaten bans.
When you leave something up on the forum - I am allowed to respond. Very simple.

As RR pointed out if you are busy handing out warnings - then they are not heeded.

When are you going to direct the same message to the handful of posters here who constantly derail threads with insults, baiting, and unsupportable claims?

Pretending it is the fault of one guy is absurd.

Plenty of posters who have insulted and baited have gotten the same message and faced sanctions of varying length and severity, some of which (the sanctions) are visible and clearly recorded on the suspensions thread. Why are you claiming this isn't the case? How many need to be banned before you declare the forum troll free?

There are always going to be people who take shots. Why don't you report them and move on?

Anyone with two eyes can see Dr. Mas is clogging the Walsh thread into irrelevance and can see he has being doing nothing but that on countless threads over the past months. He calls people trolls who are simply in disagreement, and then complains about "personal attacks" as if name-calling isn't personal.

I'm glad the mods have warned him. That thread was unreadable days ago. I wonder if that was the goal. I can't say, but I sure wonder.

On the other hand, the simplest way to prevent anyone from clogging threads simply not to respond. 99% of his posts are responses to other posters, nitpicking and arguing so far past the point of relevance that rational readers tune out. Easiest way to pull the plug on that strategy is simply not to engage with it. Fire needs fuel to burn.

As a fellow member with experience on both sides of the mod line, I would say to all, make your points and move on. Oh, and grow up. You can't win the internet. Watch how I don't respond to the forthcoming attacks on this post. You can read my thoughts and agree or disagree, as well as those which follow. My hounding you about every noun, verb and adjective isn't going to make my points more clear.

And in case you haven't noticed, I'm no longer a mod so please don't go there. This is my opinion and not that of the mod team.

No, you should just report it. "Don't feed the trolls" is a universal rule. I'm sure you found that in other places.

The mods do NOTHING except ban people. Look at esnars pms - the boo hoo about the mods having to endure me for 3 days??
WTF were they doing for the last 3 days.

Is this the Sky bandwagon thread that was started by someone who admits to not actually reading Walshs pieces?

That thread? Yes?

My sincere apologies for trying to actually steer it in the direction of the subject. Walsh is on the Sky bandwagon (and its all JVs fault too)

You mentioned something about "personal attacks" a moment ago? Right?

So - basically you want people to just post any old nonsence - don't want to upset people and have someone query it.

The amusing thing is that is trolling 101 - BPC used that to great effect, put up something that sounded somewhat plausible. If it isn't queried, repeat it as fact. Great way to encourage those with an agenda.

You cannot spot the trolls - thats your problem.

It was mentioned up thread that ChrisE should be made mod -
at the time I was going to joke that he would only moderate content and ban people he didn't like for no good reason. He would be great.

Actually, CN should hire ChrisE & Cheewie to take the mods off on a day course on how to spot a troll.

Is it the question of whether Sky is doping that has split the forum into these warring factions? Seems like things were more tranquil here back in the day when most folks were against Lance and only a few like Polish, flicker, etc took the opposing view.

So it's more complicated now, and we don't all agree with each other so readily. Not the end of the world. But my god, let's not act like we have a monopoly on the truth about Sky (or Walsh, Brailsford, Froome, etc). We are just studying things from the outside and taking our best guess. Differing opinions ought to be allowed.

The vortex - is interesting.
I got that nickname from Markvw (i believe) because I would question them on their facts, which I usually knew to be wrong.
And this being a forum (not a place to release statements) I have every right and intention to do.

But instead of the person responding with where they got their information (which one would expect if someone had a valid point, or wished to inform others) instead I get dismissed as the vortex which is merely a personal deflection to not answer.

Your the moderator. Moderate.

I have asked you and the other mods here exactly what is it you want me to do?

Why is it you guys cannot answer that simple question?

lol, now that's some trolling.
You even made me post all the discussion. Read it again. Oh no wait, now you'll ask me a source to demonstrate that I already told you, so I'll save some time.

To me its easy. (and you actually answered it right at the beginning):D

Nothing to do with LA, Sky or anyone else. The biggest 'debates' here have been the campag/shimno thread and the pedalling technique thread.

What has been allowed is for people to make it personal. As an example, I had plenty of tussles with BPC, but it was always over content or information - it never became personal.

Now when you query someone you will get dismissed as fanboy/hater or vortex, and the mods do nothing about it and even encourage it.

Of course people will respond when it becomes personal.

Thanks for proving my point.

Filling my inbox with threatening whinges dressed as "warnings" is not moderating.

Be specific - I asked was I allowed to respond to (say digger) in the Walsh thread, you said "yes".
So where is the "derailing" nonsense going to kick in? 5 posts, 10 posts, 20 posts? Is there a limit to who I can respond to?

Calm down Francis.

Didn't you get the memo? It is now ok to give another poster an insulting nickname like "the Vortex" or "Dr. Mastercard". The mods even start threads dedicated to baiting users.

From now on you name is Francis, get used to it

Hold on.

Easiest way to troll is to throw something made up to upset people (baiting/flamming) - its easy spot the obvious (Wiggins working with Ferrari was good) but much more difficult to spot subtle additions.

The easiest way to find if something is made up or not is to request a source.

I did that after my first ban recently - a poster made what I felt was an incorrect statement and I found an article that suggested they were wrong.
However, I have no way of knowing if this was intentional on there part or not so allowed them the opportunity to correct, amend or clarify.

YOU THEN JUMPED IN TO THAT THREAD AND ENDED UP BANNING ME FOR A WEEK!
