Didn't we all :D

Actually, no, I signed up specifically to attack BlackCat, the guy who applied for a job with Sky, and when they threw his application in the bin decided to go all anti-sky. :D

I genuinely have no idea any more whether that might be true or not!

After the temporary closure of a thread, new rules, veiled threats, it is right back to where it was. A cluster F*CK of bickering among self righteous tools.

This forum sucks bad and the moderators are worse.

Well the best part was that a mod actually dropped in the middle of it to have a pop at a member. I thought that was good.

To answer your question - SittingBisson wont be here for at least a few hours yet, and as its the weekend it may even be a further 24 hours.
Berzin is due in about a week or two.

After that, there is no one who does anything.

Understaffed, and probably (or not) spending some of their time to think about who to approach, though I doubt there are (m)any serious options, who'd want to volunteer.

stoopid

Yup.
But this is because of the way modding is setup, which I would lay the blame squarely at Future or Dan for not taking leadership since Susan went, not at the mods who have been left alone and have spent time setting it up and modding.

There are a few mods who do little, but want to hold on to the shiny badge and ban hammer.
This is a 24/7 environment, there should be people on to cover the major times zones and give them limited power to move threads and issue at most 24 hour bans.
Then have a senior mod (or 2) who understands modding to make broader decisons and extend bans if nessesery. That way the members get consistency and the junior mods get little flak and should have little to do except a little housekeeping.

Were it not for the fact that it makes for totally inconsistent drive by modding, I would say the fewer mods the better.

I would agree.
Hence if you have a few people are 'on' the forum anyway, with limited power it stops any trolling quickly.
If stuff gets quickly moved or the temp is reduced quickly the more blatant stuff happens less frequently and the need for heavy handed action is less.

The best mods are those that barely remember they are mods anymore, like Parrulo. Just let people like Parrulo mod quietly, get rid of the alphamods and the forum will be a nicer place for everyone.

Disagree with the last part - I think you are blaming bad poster manners on the mods. Don't quite see that.

Said like someone with an inside view.

That sounds like an excellent plan. In my opinion, of course.

Huh? You lost me here - first you say we need more mods, and then you agree with Januss who says we should have fewer. Do what?

Frankly, I researched mod internal stuff going back to the beginning. I've even contacted and had some convos with the old crews. And after year one, there has been a pretty consistent search for leadership and direction. Imo, of course.
