Dear Wiggo said:
Race Radio said he had lunch with Porte, and Porte was straight with him, etc. The tenor of the post cast Porte in the light of an honest, upstanding rider.

I did a search just now and the post is gone.

How ... convenient...

Either I cannot find it, or Race Radio deleted it.

IF RR deleted it, that pretty much wins the Internet as far as I am concerned.

As it is still there I assume you will be making an apology to RR

So let me get this straight, RR had lunch with Porte 1 years ago, giving him the ability to gauge direct responses in a way that none of us can, and that makes RR an apologist?

Maybe some of you need to go to lunch with Porte and gauge him for yourselves? Maybe you'll be the one to hammer him into admitting what you know you know and know he knows and know what everyone knows...? Watch a cop show or Scooby Doo first and pick up some tips on how to get the criminal to say "Yea, it was me, I did it, and I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling kids!" first.

I don't think Porte or Froome are clean, but I've read RR's account (in fact, we PM'd about it after he wrote it) and the fact is that someone else twisted it into something it wasn't, and you then swallowed it like an old professional. That isn't a reflection of RR's character or thoughts, that's a reflection of how much of an a$$hat you are.

Some of you have RR derangement syndrome. You think RR controls the mods, has proclaimed things he never proclaimed, conspires with me to wear the same shirt every day, and for me to rip you to shreds if you question him. I've defended the guy, but that's been my choice because I like him. But specifically, when MarkvW whines about it, I need to point out just how horrifically badly you troll the place with incorrect information, and just how fun it is to call you on your bulls**t in front of others. That is a reward in and of itself. I don't do it for RR's sake, I do it because of my disdain for you.

Past that, pointing out that RR's interaction with Porte influenced his opinion is probably correct. I would think that any of you could understand something like that considering that we're all human and do that on a daily basis with everyone we meet... Or maybe it has something to do with your dissatisfaction with your lives...<-Pay attention to that last sentence

You caught him, he's guilty!

Man, the Clinic is trashy as all h@ll.

Think Snooki trashed and peeing on the dance floor.

Seriously, when someone gets equated with a pedophile, everyone should just take a big step back.

Its pretty clear there are a few camps that hate each other. The focus of many threads seems to have become attacking each other, defending yourselves, attacking again, etc...

Go look at a few days worth of posts and analyze them generically. How many have legit new info? How many are just attacks, counter attacks and references to old fights?

If anyone here actually wants to talk about - y'know - doping, it's been way eclipsed by all the nasty infighting.

If I were a mod, I'd ban the heck out of anyone fighting. And delete all off topic bickering. Maybe a few months of crackdown, it'd clean up the culture around here. Such an approached worked on a forum I used to visit. It went from a handful of regulars fighting, to a healthy sub forum with lots of posters.

Good post Chewie.

Surely we can all agree that RR is persecuted by two groups: those ****-hurt over the personal failings of their savior and those that are constantly beat to the punch regarding information they covet.

Fortunately, Race has a strong constitution as it's often very entertaining to watch both groups piss in the wind.

I like the way that, when the moderators point out, again and again, that this thread is meant to be about the moderators, everyone takes note...

Quite impossible, really, when the same stubborn one(s) constantly feel the need to pass by and 'drop a bait' and try to provoke discussion on matters that have been considered dealt with by the moderators.

I think some posters beleive a certain posters controls the mods getting other posters banned at his whim, I think these accuasations are ridiculous, I guess that is why it is in the mods thread.

Thanks for the nice posts guys.

So the ridiculous claim that I was "Protecting Froome and called out by Hog" has shown to be nonsense. After hours of searching and digging the best they can find is that I had lunch with a teammate of his and found him very direct.

This proves what I have been saying for a while, that a small handful of posters twist what is written in order to provoke conflict. It can be entertaining when it happens occasionally, but when it floods the forum it makes it unreadable and drives good posters away

The two "problem children" are on enforced vacations, but we still don't have much peace on the forum. Why is that?

Maybe mods could step in earlier when bickering starts and not let things simmer along until it blows up into a big deal. Put a stop to it before everybody gets their backs up and comes riding to the rescue of their "side" and turns a small disagreement between a couple folks into a huge annoying mess that takes over the forum.

The only way this will happen is if people report posts, I don't think that the unpaid mods have the time to monitor every thread

The "other side" has been banned now so everyone can relax. Not to worry, I have given up on my own reality and substituted it for the correct one.

+1 to both of these. I agree, it's best to put a stop to it before it get's out of hand. The difficult part of that is if there is or isn't a moderator online to put a stop to it quickly. I've found reported posts really does help. It gives us a link right to the place where the problem is occurring, and if posts are being reported by multiple users it tells us we need to keep on eye on the discussion.

Why must we think of the forum as divided by "sides?" It gives the impression that some posters are your enemy and is a main contributing factor to bickering, personal attacks, and other problems IMO.

I have another suggestion.

Instead of laying it all on the mods and criticizing them when the 'problem' isn't fixed quickly enough..how about YOU all monitor what you spew forth and think twice before you take out your internet indignities on another poster.

I find when I write a response .. before I PUSH THE BUTTON ..i quickly reread it.. Most times I find myself pausing and thinking..'nah'..not worth it.

Because the Armstrong thread is just one big groupthink, which means that people who disagree with the accepted viewpoint becomes the other side by default.

I don't think "we" do.

I think there are a small handful of small-minded rabble-rousers who are very skilled at polarizing issues to provoke a fight.

You saw it yourself when you moderated some posts this afternoon that involved me. A poster was bending over backwards to start a fight and in order to do so he was having to claim that by me saying "Froome is a doper" I was trying to promote the message that Froome is clean.

It takes a very special sort of person to be able to think like that :D

More sense finally being made in this thread! :) I agree again. I've almost always re-read my posts at least once before hitting submit, and before becoming a mod, I'd never been banned or head a unpleasant run in with a mod, so there's got to be something to it. Of course I didn't use to post in the clinic either. :D

Assuming the other side your talking about are the ones that still like Armstrong, are there really many of those that post here?

But I'm talking about more then just the Armstrong thread, but the entire forum in general. From Contador fans vs. Nibali fans in PRR, to non-Sky fans vs. Sky fans in the clinic. I don't think we should consider each other enemies on opposing sides, I'm sure there are many things people from all sides would agree upon.

Got to agree with Scottie, below. "Good post, Chewie. "

Well, I won't agree that RR is persecuted. I've seen him in the middle of the fights, sometimes even throwing the first punch, and then, when it gets called, he's got the "oh, no, I didn't do anything!" line down pat.

Well, you've got a good point there, but if you take a look at what's going down, you will note that there IS a lot of work being done, via bans, to clean up the culture. Just look a bit harder at what is being done. And don't forget to assist the process by using the "Report" button.

The bans don't seem to be working. Said members have had long bans in the past and come right back to it. Same with other members not currently banned.

The low blows stay and don't get deleted - which only fuels the poster. The off topic bickering stays - fuels the OPoster, clogs threads.

The noise to signal ratio drives away good posters. Wading through 20 pages of "The Clinic Shore," to get one good update on the investigation into Riis, Armstrong's legal troubles, etc... Is barely worth it.

I posted this in the appreciation / depreciation thread. It applies to quite a few people. I think banning is stupid all around. I rather have everyone around and the discussion will take care of itself.

"Y'all just trolled the place with this BS.

It was troll and bait. Y'all were dancing in celebration like an end-zone spike.

To bad most of the targets have been banninated ---except for two of them Volkswagen Mark and Chowd. If they were to respond to those posts then it would have meant immediate bannination by the mod that has a KNOW DOPER as his avatard."

This...hog gets banned. First post back and race is the first to start up again. Then he says hog is baiting him and obsessed. To think rr is without blame in all that isn't accurate at all. Just go back to the posts.
Hog gets back into it having been Insulted. And then hog gets banned About a week later. That's the point here.
