Heavy sigh...what are you guys like. This is the 'feel free to abuse the mods thread (within reason obviously;))'. Seriously, deal with your personals and if you have to and want to take it further, get it on in the appropriate thread or if not, man it up via pm and spare us the collateral. This thread was not intended to host non mod petty bickering. Cheers.

Sadly the mods have show that you can keep on trolling, get a (typically minimal) ban and then just repeat the process. I don't really know what they hope that will achieve. Apparently this has come from up above so maybe it is Benson to blame for this futile and incompetent strategy.

Kudos to Afrank (and anyone else) on keeping the place tidy of spam though.

If moderators are drawn from general membership this is what happens........friendships, allegiances and also personal bias don't just disappear when mods keys are handed over. There is one staggering example of this.... And I don't mean the hog......at least there is an intellect behind there even though he posts purely to see if he can spin an argument that flies in the face of the facts and see how many people he can draw in

As far as Benson is concerned....well, this forum is click bait to generate advertising revenue....controversy is welcomed as it creates more clicks.....there's close to zero spent on maintaining this place....run by volunteers...with a pitiful level of technical investment as demonstrated by the frequency of spam attacks and the stone age methods of sock detection.

Desist. I'm tired of your tosh. Can you go without making stupid accusations? You have kept this infantile and provocative behavior ever since I can remember. How you always get away with it is beyond possible comprehension.

I've no problem with anyone having a go at Moderators for what they see as poor moderation, after all, you can't please all of the people all of time. I do believe however, that most posters on here who do not get involved with some of the nonsense that goes on, don't have a problem with it. As for the bold, and for the record, I'm no institutionalised moderator, it's just frankly wrong. From day one, nobody from 'up above' has pressurised me in any way or form on how or who (of course there may be a Mod top table that I've not been invited to sit at but I really don't think so:rolleyes:).

someone gets permabanned, then a new account appears and posts in almost exactly the same way.

Sure, it could be a coincidence, but I doubt a genuinely new posters would jump straight into the clinic and start arguing like that.

Not sure why it upsets you so much that I am telling the truth.

Nothing worse than unofficial self-appointed moderators.....reminds me of the kids at school that nobody likes who grasses up his classmates....there was always one in every class

it seems the nature of a forum is the ebb and flow of conversation..therefore posters calling each other on posts and behavior is what happens and much preferred than being heavily moderated by 'official' mods.

..the problem being that too many feed the incessant trolling and get all whiney when all most need to do when they are 'offended' is to stop posting for a while in that thread.

But then this is the official mod complaint thread so..:p
it's become the 'run to mum & complain about the bad guys teasing me' refuge

Nice analogy, unfortunately there would be the bullies in the class also and also children who would go running home to mummy complaining/crying and wringing their hands whenever they couldn't get their own way.....

I don't understand  are you trying to seem more intelligent by using fancy English words?

Ugh of all the things you can attack sceptic.for, you chose a pretty weak one. About 90% of the time that sceptic has accused someone of being a sockpuppet, that person has been eventually outed as one. Not saying that is the case here, haven't looked at that account. But sockpuppet accounts have been appearing left right and centre for 2 years and jumping straight into fights with the sceptic. He's got a right to be paranoid about it.

I dont see Sceptic acting as a self appointed mod. Calling sockpuppets has always been done in the clinic. BPC being the most banned and continually returning person who always called out on his return.

I applaud whistleblowers and dont see people like that as a 'grass'.

'Grasses' in the sporting sense do more good than bad and it says something of your mindset that you would use that term.

You appear also to have no problem with banned posters returning in a manner that is dishonest. That again tells us something of your mindset.

To tell you truth Benotti I'm far more interested in what posters say than whether they have been previously banned.....especially since some of the bans (on all sides of whatever debate) have been ridiculous.....although there seems to be a more intelligent approach recently.

....but that is not the issue...sceptic is using it to bait...as seen by his persistent badgering of TheSpud....despite being told not to by mods

*** This is a serious request ***

Can the Moderators consider creating a new subforum for fanboys/fangirls, so they can satisfy their urge to praise their rider(s)? It's getting really ridiculous that a discussion forum becomes a place to posting pictures and videos that don't add anything in the Professional Road Racing forum. It's becoming really toxic out there.

Most posters who are permabanned if they were serious posters interested in discussion and debate are offered second chances from their permabans Those not serious turn to sockpuppetry. Sockpuppets tend to detract from the forum sooner or later.

Not sure whose bans have been ridiculous as mods give plenty of warnings before bans. Those who ignore warnings cant be surprised by a ban and if they have no to blame but themselves.

Not just about sockpuppetry, but accusations in general. Of whatever it is. They range to much more serious things. It's his pet addiction.
