What we laughingly refer to as "moderation" on this forum is the most heavy handed and opaque interference I have seen in any of the on line forums I frequent on a regular basis.

The constant nannying and warnings to "stay on topic" when it is almost impossible on most threads around here to have any idea what the topic in a 5,300 post thread actually is.

It is getting worse. Not better.

So because the answer was obvious (to you) that makes the post off topic? Crap logic.
Are you implying that the answer wasn't obvious to you? You're smarter than this...

I'm afraid the politics of this forum consist in having threads about topics and to stick with them. I'm aware there exist fora where that's not the case, but it's simply the way this one works.

No (to the question with a question mark). You are also smart enough to know that there was more to that question than just the (obvious) answer to it.

So in the future whenever someone ask a question to a mod in this thread, if the mod thinks the answer is obvious, then the post will be deleted without any answer. Great job.

Yes it's quite obvious which post of the two I was referring to. Does this mean I should delete your question and not answer it?

I just gave you an answer didn't I, your post just got axed along with all the others.

And the answer should have been pretty obvious to anyone to be honest. I don't see how anyone can draw the conclusion from Susan's gentle warning to get back on topic that we were going to be closing down any sections or threads on the forum.

Yeah, there was a lame comparison.

Listen folks. This is a cycling forum. How about we stick to that and leave the other stuff?

Let's try again.

How much does the politics thread have to do with cycling? After all this is a cycling forum, and given we should just stick to that and leave the other stuff, it's quite obvious that politics should be left, no?

If this cycling forum only can discuss topics related to cycling, then what is the point in having a non-cycling forum within it?

Susans warning is a gentle warning for people to get back on topic in this thread and keep the majority of the forum about cycling. As stated in the description of the cafe it is the place you can go and discuss non-cycling related items. But any threads that are stupid or even could be seen as offensive (such as a pointless thread on Hitler) will be closed. You can talk non-cycling in the cafe, but it will be moderated like any other section of the forum.

Susan wasn't saying no non-cycling talk is aloud across the forum as a whole, but trying to nudge people back on topic here.

C'mon all you immature guys that just want to twist words and cause some unrest.
Grow up shut up or go elsewhere..

The forum has tanked steadily because of antics like this in most threads.

Don't always agree with the mods on this one, forums are for discussing cycling except the cafe and some stuff about other sports in the clinic and form and fitness forums in approriate threads. If you want to discuss political figures then there are thread in the cafe for this

Stop with saying shut up to people Jimmy, reply to a post points directly or don't reply at all. Last time was just a delete, this time it's a warning.

Well if you mods weren't so pathetic and dealt with the hogs trolling, then people like Jimmy would not have to say shut up, you are allowing a troll like theHog to basically ruin threads.

A great shame. I would love to read more of you and jimmys excellent insight into cycling and doping.

I would love to read the insight from the many good posters who have been driven from the board by a few dedicated trolls whose sole goal is to cause conflict, disrupt discussion, and post sniping remarks that add nothing to the discussion.
