Reported two insulting posts that were pure defamation, here in this thread. I demand them to be removed.

I wasn't sure where to ask this.

Are we allowed to quote Adolf Hitler in our signature?

Bye bye.

I suggest you go insult someone else. I'm not your familiar.

This is not nonsense. This is serious, and it reflects very badly on CN's mod team.

Just recently someone got banned for a month for making a Hitler joke.

But now, when someone does something that is orders of magnitude worse, nothing happens.

Totally agree with you. But do not quote me. Instead, PM those bullies a warning please.

If I recall correctly I took part in that discussion. But it was several months ago, and I checked a few times if there was a response and I didn't see one. If there was a response to my contribution - sorry, I missed it since it has now been deleted!

Interesting to hear that this has now been deleted, several months after the initial post. But the thread in which it was is a bit of an odd, obscure one, that probably not a lot of people read. I did not report it at the time and tried to answer as diplomatically as I could. But I agree, it should have been reported, and this is not a place to discuss such things.

I do not want to go around, accusing people and calling names. But when starting such a discussion, one must certainly be aware of the effect it will produce. The question is, whether that is an effect worth producing on a - more or less - innocent cycling forum.

You did take part in the discussion (there was no actual discussion though). You wrote that you could not go trough reading the content in those links and that you firmly believe what historians say about the subject - or something along those lines. And indeed you got no response. The reason I did not answer your post was because I was not sure one was allowed to argue and discuss in that thread (which consists mostly of links to info, articles, etc.). I even stated that in my OP if I recall correctely.

To the rest, I won't go round repeating myself beacause this post will get deleted.

Now, I am fed up with these bullies hrotha and the_sceptic demanding for a ban to be handed to me. Who do they think they are? I have never seen so much arrogance together. They are appealing to mod action stating it does not reflect well on their image. They are pressuring mods to ban me. Again, who do they think they are? People who do not know me at all accusing me of anti-semitism and being a neo-nazi. Words fail me to descibe this.

I can only judge you from what you post. If you hadn't posted that drivel there would be no problem.

This is insane! Do you even feel the irony in this? It seems that you are the one with an hate agenda against me. Based on nothing but assumptions. Just stop it.

Not that I agree with the zealotry being directed toward you, but I did read the posts at the time and it might have helped then (and now, per the moderation of your posts) if you have framed the links: historicized them or pitched a rhetorical question as to what conditions (racist and neo-fascist ignorance aside) could be at work in the framing, determination and erosion of historical experience such that flat, unequivocal denial could even be momentarily entertained by anyone sane and sincere with a neutral agenda.

Rather than just throwing them out apropos of nothing...

Then you might try reading this very thread, and the line of people who felt the need to come in here and demand bans for The Hog. Take a cue from how Hoggy handled it, and move on with your life.

I don't see what the huge injustice is. The people who own the forum say they don't want discussions of Hitler. It's their forum; we are guests here and not allowed to do everything we want. End of.

If the rules are so awful, one can always go to some other place, get a blog, twitter account - hell, Dim even made his own forum and spends time there rather than here. It's CN's rules, not each poster's.

I shared the links for anyone who wanted to open them. I did not want to start a dicussion on whether the holocaust took place or not. The closest I got from expressing my view on the subject was responding ''I don't know or I'm not sure'' when asked if I believed what was on those links. Nowhere did I express myself as an holocaust denier like some here want to make it look like. The title I gave to my post was to summarise what was the content of the links.

With that, I also wrote that my post was not of anti-semitic nature or neo-nazi. And now I have people calling me anti-semitic and a neo-nazi.

Last time I looked, hrotha and the_sceptic did not run this forum.

3 times a warning to stop has been posted by 3 different mods. Enough is enough, I've deleted the conversation up to the first mod warning. No more warnings will be given, continuation of this conversation will result in bans.

Now to those calling for bans, I understand what your saying and your reasoning for wanting a ban to be handed out. But this is a very sensitive issue and one that must be discussed before we jump to any serious decisions like handing out bans.

Now I don't agree with the Holocaust denial ideas in any way. I find them to be nothing but ignorant and stupid ideas to be perfectly honest. But it must be realized and acknowledged that we as mods cannot control what other posters on the forum think or believe. All we can do, is do our best to keep the forum on topic and stop offensive and pointless discussions like a discussion on Holocaust denial from occurring on the forum. And a persons ideas and stances on sensitive subjects may not be a good reason to ban someone from the forum. If we were to start banning people because we don't agree with the views they hold we would be coming very close to abusing our power. Continuing bringing up this material however that has been deemed inappropriate for the forum, would be reason to ban a poster.

Now to close, like I said before, discussion between us must occur first before jumping to any large decisions. But in the meantime, I don't want to see any continuation of this discussion on Hitler, Nazi's, denial of the Holocaust, or anything else like the things we have said to stop discussing.

I think the bit in bold is the key. I don't feel you have to apologize for anything, or to turn this into a deeper, philosophical discussion. When a conversation, any conversation, becomes a vortex unto itself, and warnings to desist from that conversations are blatantly ignored—to the determent of the forum (I mean, it's not as if nothing worth discussing is taking place in the world of pro cycling at the moment), then bans are entirely appropriate and shouldn't require lengthy explanations.

If some people just can't "get it" (or are determined to convince others of their own supposed naivety) then it really shouldn't be the forum's problem to coddle these people into understanding that which they perhaps never will anyway. Some lessons in life are easier than others.

If disrupting the forum with continued self-indulgence leads to someone being banned, no one should be surprised. This isn't AnyThingGoes.com. If someone can't figure that out, then that really is their problem and shouldn't be all of ours.

this!

here we have my no.1 grumble about the forum

inconsistent moderation.............some members receive bans for a couple of off topic posts............other members get away with ignoring mods/insulting other members

depends which way the wind blows

One last question. Are you mods considering banning me? Just so I know.

So the posts in the PRR section (and others?) have been recovered, though obviously some are missing here.
