I think there are some misconceptions floating around that mods have access to a different code that allows them to type certain words that us mere mortals can not, and that sittingbison has perhaps taking advantage of that privilege.

But that is not the case.

why is there such poor feedback as to forum problems occuring/being fixed

members ask questions such as recent issues with reporting posts but finding out what is going on is akin to pulling teeth

Since reporting posts appears not to be working, I hope we can count on the mods to spend more time in the threads than normal so they can keep an eye on what's actually happening. At least, spend more time on the usual problem threads where the bickering and going after other posters occurs more regularly.

Recent days have seen a few times with things getting personal and/or heated that probably should've been nipped in the bud. And with the TdF fast approaching, and the influx of new posters, it's only going to get worse.

Or alternately, the forum software could be fixed before the Tour, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would humbly suggest that if the mods, when they return to action (I know, I know, real life, blah blah blah. SUPRISE! WE ALL HAVE REAL LIVES!) if some serious and long-term bans aren't handed out as a result of the utter absurd trolling and derailment that has taken place in the Froome autobiography thread, then don't even bother handing out bans to anyone ever.

FFS. It's beyond the point of absurdity.

I realize that the more contentious threads in The Clinic are often written off, to a certain degree, as just being a playhouse for the crazies, and that that often results in a certain amount of leeway in terms of moderation, but what's taking place now is a total joke.

Don't discuss it. Don't debate it. Don't check with Benson or anyone else, just hand out some good 90+ day bans. It really shouldn't be more complicated than that.

Was it, or was it not, at some point in time, established that other forum members were to be referred to by there proper screen name and not a deliberately insulting variation of such?

I'm not talking about common abbreviations or any other such thing. I talking about very deliberate alterations of screen names that are delivered with caustic intent.

PRR section

Having just returned from vacation I am catching up on the forum postings.

I must ask why the PRR rules of no doping are regularly flaunted without repercussion? Rider threads devolve into doping innuendo and name calling and sooner or later a mod shows up and says 'play nice'. But it is always the same people and they do it repeatedly every time they venture over from the clinic. Are the rules so lax over there that they just figure it's okay to stray on PRR?

When one sees the offenses daily it may appear fairly minor. However I am reading 16 days of posts and viewing day after day of it has a larger impact.

Right now I'm slogging through the Chris Froome thread. Need I say more? Oh yeah the Report Post is broken. But that has been reported.

When someone keeps registering new accounts with the sole purpose of defending sky, what does that make them if not a bot?
