I couldn't careless but it's in relation to two posters who somehow in recent times have developed this personal problem with one poster.

This was all seen in the Lance thread after Armstrong and Hincapie did the interview talking about Frankie and Betsy, and when Sheryl Crow had a go at Betsy. Go look at those discussions where it has been going on like this since then.

Another poster from the same ilk as the other two, has a personal problem with the same postrr and throws out the tailwind comment to provoke that poster into conflict.

This has gone on long enough. And to think these serial offenders are still here and Dr. Mas and MartinVickers are gone for good. Unbelievable.

Mods must be cool with it as it happens over, and over, and over on thread after thread. For some posters it has become the majority of what they write here. Some would call such stalking an "Unhinged obsession"....

When one of the main contributors to a thread starts baiting others for posting there the goal is obvious to most.

For entertainment value alone I am looking forward to the inevitable "Brailsford the genius" threads. It is only a matter of time

Yet other sock puppets are allowed to remain, and rack up thousands of trolling posts.

I took part in those discussions. I don't need to go and read them.

You don't know the posters and what they felt about Armstrong as you weren't there. So to comment on their agreement with another poster seems conjecture at best.

If you cannot see the ... intensity and hyperfocus that precludes all other interpretation of what ex-pro riders say and write, then that's your prerogative. But if other posters can, and comment on such, or are prepared to post said views but then get attacked and hounded for it, I don't think you should call that, "jumping the fence".

Lance is gone from the sport. If he is doping now it is immaterial.

Yet the thread lives, eking out an existence in a ... doping discussion forum.

It's like a well fed pet. That died a year ago or so.

Wait a minute. Are you saying that there are some posters on here with multiple identities - in breach of the forum rules, and usually a banning offence - but because they've been around for a long time and the management knows about them, that it's allowed?

Any chance you can publish the user names of these sockpuppets, so non-management types like me can know when we're talking to the same person?

By the way, I haven't got any problem with the the same user having multiple identities, along as they're upfront about it and has never run the two accounts simultaneously it makes no difference to me), it only would seem odd if it was a secret!

If the mods don't want to tell, any chance someone can PM me?

Those who are confirmed get banned. Those who aren't confirmed as sock puppets, aren't banned. It's really simple.

I don't see any big reason for two JV threads. Like anyone else, JV is capable of deciding which posts/questions to answer and which to ignore. Frankly, I found it telling that he ignored LibSeg's thoughtful post (which was put up twice), and chose instead to go for the more shallow discussions or argue with Digger.

We all chose what to engage and what to ignore. Who knows why he even posts here at all? Maybe he sometimes enjoys a little drama? He certainly doesn't seem to go to any great lengths to avoid or ignore Digger.

ETA:
To clarify, I don't mean to imply that any poster should be given a free pass to hound JV all over the thread. In my opinion, that stuff is up to the mods to step in if they feel a person is "stalking" another poster, bating, insulting, or just endlessly repeating the same arguments. I would handle the JV "abuse" issues by enforcing that sort of rule rather than making two threads.

I agree that those clinic posts in the Contador thread should be removed, but I also think you should take action against people who start that. Walkman was imo clearly baiting with that post, nothing in the previous posts of the thread had anything to do with doping, and he just couldn't resist telling posting that Contador is a doper. I know I prolly shouldn't be responding, but to me it had more to do with calling someone out for his bs than a true doping discussion

The fact that the poster isn't there. Whats the point in writing a response to someone in the clinic if they don't go and check it out.

And its not me that wants to respond. I know the poster's game and discussing it with them is just "feeding" them and a waste of time. But there are others who clearly had responses they wanted to give and have been denied that by the way the poster played it - posting the bait knowing it would get deleted just as responses started to come in ultimately frustrating his target audience even more.

But im not saying you should allow the clinic discussion, or that you were wrong to delete it. You do what you gotta do.
