I had NO idea you could be banned from a comments section. That is possibly the greatest bannination in the history of CN.
Yep, except normally the bans on the comments section are permabans. I have only had one other person seek to have their ban reduced and get reinstated.

Some people go on the comments section just to troll and fight with other people, those are the ones that get washed out fairly quickly.

They did not put any comments up like this did they? This is one of the best.

I am Ray J's wife Brigid.
Ray j has contacted the administration and tried to explain that he was not the sock-puppet i.e. never posted with a false account. Whoever posted as him really needs to get a life. Why would you want to get someone banned? crazy.
I am posting because there has been no response to the emails Ray has sent the administrators.
Ray asked me if I would do this.
He's not that concerned about the ban [ he's a busy man] its more about not letting the person who got him banned get away with it and letting the administrators know that they can easily be fooled and have been on this occasion.

Brigid.

Haha! I thought that Jackhammer111 was the only one dumb enough to pretend to be the S.O.

Seeing that I've just found out that we can get banned and permabanned from the forum from the Cyclingnews comments section, no surprise but I'm StryderHells here and in the comment section Stryder T.A... Don't ban me, no sockpuppets I promise ;)

You posted almost 1200 comments without knowing that you could get banned?

That's mighty impressive.. :D

Didn't realise I could get banned from the comments section on the main page, always knew I could get the boot from the forum ;)

Ahhh, I see. Yeah, it's a little bit more discreet in the comments section. :p

Is it okay to call riders out for being freaks in the negative sense of the word? Not only does it heavily imply doping, but also not a very nice word in general.

While your doping angle has (a teeny-tiny bit of) merit, the latter has none. Who cares if a cyclist is called an ugly word. What do you think Armstrong has been called on this forum (and Froome for that matter)?

I use the word "freak" to describe people all the time without having any connotations to doping (not PED's anyway).

Here in Seattle, "freak" status is something that people strive to achieve.

It's part of the local culture. :D

I would've thought cyclists are genetic freaks due to their constitutions and physical ability.

Now Valverde is no freak, he is a ............................... :D

As long as it's in the context of "freakishly talented" or similar I have no issues with it.

Congratulation with the update (it must have happened in the last couple of hours, right?)! I will have to see (tomorrow) if it's only the mods, or if everyone's avatar's limit is increased to 150p.

BTW, is it just a mistake, or does Eshnar have a whole lot less to do from now on (when looking at which mods who are assigned to the different subs)? :p

I increased it for everyone to 150 px.

Thanks for pointing out my mistake with Eshnar, I just forgot. I'll add Eshnar to the forums that he wants to moderate. :)

Maybe we should wait a bit with adding Eshnar until the annual Giro d'Italia analysis thread is posted

No, we're not doing anything different.

Perhaps you haven't said anything in the past 4.5 years that warranted a warning? Idk..
I doubt it. I should be permabanned by now if these last 2 warnings are anything to go by ;)

Were you posting naked Contador pics or threatening bodily harm to Oleg? :D

Who's the new sneaky-mod?

(joshjevans)
Haha! Josh is not "the sneaky mod", he's the "Social Media and Communities Manager for BikeRadar and Cyclingnews" and he's not new, he's been in this position for a year and a half.

Basically he's the corporate manager (Immediate Media) of this forum and my main point of contact to the website/owner and he's very helpful when I can't take care of an issue myself.

Just think of him as the owner's representative in charge of the forum. :)
