i believe you have to lay that sweet pink hilite over delgado and indurain, my friend. both tested positive.

there is tons of anecdotal evidence on both roche and hinault.

sastre, wiggins and evans -- probably too early to say as these things can take a while to come out...

leaves you with lemond.

LeMond - the only clean winner of anything, ever.

in 2012, Vino at the Olympics. I wonder how many blood bags he stored from Jan to Jul to reach that level. Unreal.

He stored blood bags from Jan and Bobby Julich, his former Telekom teammates? Now, that might explain something. But to be fair, he didn't look all that dominating in the final kilometres in the Olympic road race - I am sure Rigoberto Uran Uran won't have too many regrets over his second place.

One of my favourite categories of doped performances? The legendary Saunier Duval 1-2s!

Right up there with the Schumacher time trials. What a bizarre tour that was, did anyone for a second think these guys weren't doped to the eyeballs? How stupid did these guys think we were?
And it still gets talked about as having the only 'clean' winner in the last however man years.

It's not so much about how stupid they thought we were, but how stupid they thought the doping testers were - not quite as stupid as they assumed apparently.

I am surprized that the authorities even bother with dope checks. With so many experts available on this site they could click on and immediately find out what's happening.

Somehow I don't think WADA {or anyone else come to that} would give this thread a lot of credence Asian.

It was just revealed that Beyonce lip-synced the national anthem at the presidential inauguration yesterday. Does this qualify?

I'm devastated.

Just thinking back to that tour, I remember even on the ITV coverage Gary Imlach pulling faces about those performances with words to the effect of 'judge this stuff for yourselves folks'.
Really, if you didn't suspect something was amiss you must have been watching another race, or in some sort of financial arrangement with LA over some mine in Africa or some such thing.

I laughed along with the epo fuelled epic of Landis at Morzine 2006. In his yellow and green clowns outfit all that was missing was a court jesters hat complete with silver bells. While a bemused cycling media looked on, Floyd poured bidon after bidon of water over himself, maybe trying to avoid a Simpson style overheating, and it was yet another 'save the tour, save your ***' farce unfolding.
But for the most tragic case we have to look to Marco Pantani. Even the legendary Jacques Anquetil would have envied Marco's incredible tolerance of toxic substances. A naturally gifted climber, he had long passed 'the fork in the road' and taken the wrong track. I'm voting for his lone break on les deux alpes 1998 as the most infamous doped performance in the history of cycling. At least until Lance returned.

Can't remember the exact stage or year but the Tour climb where there were 4-5 Postal riders in the final group of 15 or so riders.

Also, every race Richard Virenque ever rode.

Where's the evidence? I demand evidence before I will hear a word against Juanjo. Haters.

Of course, we are on the same side here LS - they never caught him because he was clean. I don't see a 300 page thread on Cobo, do you? Speaks volumes :)

Hearing "this will be discussed for years..." in the commentary (link below, cca 5:00 min+) one can only ask - why did they (team, doctors, Landis himself) decide to go "all out" just like that, not afraid of being caught? Could it be FL counted on becoming a new hero, protected by the UCI cover, as they saw during Lance's times?
