Not sure about that, but I think nobody mentioned Armstrong at Hautacam in 2000.

1995 the course was insane in Duitama and Olano, Indurain, Pantani should say everything. Pantani was found having an hematocrit of 60 after two weeks during Milano-Torino:

I think this a little too far fatched as well.Eyeballs Out said:I've enjoyed reading this thread again. This one deserves a mention.
Erik Dekker 2004 Paris Tours.
If it was a film it would be panned for being too far-fetched but to sum up the plot Dekker is in the break for over 200kms, drops everyone one by one until he's alone with 10km to go, gets joined by fresh blood (Flecha, Kessler, Astarloa), attacks and drops them, only Kessler can get across but he's left for dead in the sprint, and frankly so is the chasing peloton. Also some amusing quotes in the CN report

Pretty much agree on everything. Especially that Museeuw win was a disgrace. When he once said he was using doping at the end because he wanted to finish his career in style, every sane person knew he was lying.franic said:Some memorable performances in UCI Road World Championships:
1986 Conconi (yes, that Conconi!) was commenting the race for Rai. At about 3:50 Conconi said that Argentin was the guy who was able to recover much faster than everybody else. At 6:13 Conconi said that we were not even close to have reached the limits of the human body. And at 13:55 with half a lap to go Conconi said that he was sure Argentin was going to win.

1994 Luc Le Blanc won in front of Chiappucci after Ghirotto lead the race. 10 dopers in the first 10:

1996 the course was clearly too tough for Museeuw in Lugano, nonetheless he didn’t lose one metre on Gianetti during the final climb:

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous. Local rider smashes everyone....reminded me of tour of Turkey and Mustafa Sayer a few years ago for some reasonEscarabajo said:I wasn't sure where to put it. So this thread is probably the most adequate. It has been a while since I saw something so obvious. Besides Froome is not what he used to be.
And the award goes to Najar in Vuelta a San Juan, 90's style:
