But seriously, wouldn't it be more practical to just ride the moto rather than transporting it on the back of a tourist motorcycle, or whatever those things are called? Is the guy saving his moto tires or some such?

Inquiring minds want to know!

I personally enjoy the smell of somewhat toxic chemicals that may or may not give you a high while working on a DIY project, to each their own.

So the super fat exhaust pipes are an emissions and noise reduction thing rather than a "mine is bigger than yours" type of situation?

I get scared when children and teens describe things as difficult, dangerous or just are completely disinterested.
I have a backcountry permit for Sequoia- Kings for July and asked a 15 year old if he was down, probably @50-55lbs start pack and it's gets lighter as you eat. Carried water..he said sounds too hard.
They don't see motorcycles as fun, exciting or sexy depending on age. My parents went to a funeral for @10 days in Iowa of all places when I was 16..my dingy aunt was babysitting my brother and myself I was 16. Rode from Scottsdale to Puerto Penasco( Rocky Point) to impress a couple of girls I was crushing on.. That was the start of my moto travel obsession.

I think saying we are going to ban screen time and video games sounds pretty stupid. It's parents! Somewhere between lawn darts and pajama parties we have to meet.

If your bike is super loud other traffic will hear you coming, in turn they will get out of your way, be aware of you, and you are safer. In my experience shot loud exhaust does none of those things. Really loud exhaust does make it so you can't hear anything, on and off the motorcycle.. Makes whoever is the passenger also partake in hearing loss, general unpleasantness. And for people who ride any significant distances, really loud pipes, cheap helmets, that are noisy from everything including wind noise are a big contributor to fatigue. Aerodynamics are also part of it.. If your helmet doesn't fly in the air correctly.. You get off your motorcycle and feel like you were in a blast furnace noise wise, standing behind a jet aircraft engine while Mike Tyson beat you , head and chest for hours. I don't like moto mufflers that are fire extinguisher size but I like the noise less.

I've been a passenger on the back of a motorcycle only once many years ago, all I remember is I was frozen solid by the time we got to our destination even though it was the middle of summer! (I wore just regular clothes and my motorcycle knowledgeable date did not tell me to at least put a windbreaker on.)

A note about technology and economy.. And rider and passenger can communicate, listen to same or different music, and depending on platform, battery powered clothing on clothing that get a voltage from the motorcycle can keep all your parts warm, head to toe. I have inexpensive electric socks that are slightly thicker than something I buy in 6 packs from retail.. Have windings interwoven and you have warm feet, hands, chest, arms..OTHER PARTS, electronically heated ..it's easy and awesome, same time.. Lots of phones allow you to pair multiple devices ( 3 or less) so if I am going crazy on English Beat, Papa Roach..Elton, Brandy Carlisle.. My passenger and another rider or two can groove to my tune choices. But being warm and comfortable, dry is just price point. You can keep your body the way you want for pretty cheap.

Plus: if a quiet bike goes past a 5-0 going 20% above the speed limit there is little chance of a stop, but if a loud bike does the same the likelihood of a stop is much greater.

Most of my dirt bikes in the '80s were excessively loud, but since then I've only owned quiet bikes because it makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
 
I don't think that two wheelers often appreciate what you can get, enjoy from the interplay between bicycles and motorcycles or the reverse. I am much better at both from riding the other. It should be flattering to bicycle riders that many people who make a living going fast in cars and on motorcycles use bicycles as a training tool. Basketball players too...

LeBron James was one of a few sports stars that made significant investments in bicycle companies. Cannondale was his pet project for a few years.. And Cannondale besides Jonathan Vaughters, had other disasters...

Similarly many NHL players play golf because the skills you need to be a successful hockey player you may need and use as a golf player also.

I never scoff at athletes who try or do different things in order to perfect their game.

A scary scary sports cross over scenario that just happened..Caitlin Clark , who some say is the best professional female basketball player, just shot a 61 at pro am golf tournament. Male and female golfers at any, every level dream of being able to shoot a 61, she did it what looked like effortlessly. Amazing. Pro bike and motorcycle racers should shake in fear and hope she doesn't take up either sport.

This is a pretty suspicious bunch of teaser videos, it would be dreaming to think that everything would become a reality, but many of the models look like new designs and the close ( too close progression through engine size and bike purposes have a pretty crowded house! If they do this lineup the only way to beat Honda is on price. They always are solid of performance and nobody touches their engineering and build quality
 
There is some company is France, maybe @10 years ago that went out of business that made really really beautiful motorcycles. Germans and Dutch for some reason can take Harley platform to really high levels, fantastic customs that are literally artwork
