One thing that is super cool to see with many mini designs, it's easy to get on and off for older or shorter riders. It's also light enough to be a great, get to it transportation option for RVs, Trailer people, motorhome crowd. I think the design is brilliant because it looks fairly simple and not intimidating.

I love this entire area and much of the forests in Mexico are in near virgin condition, many with paths and no roads, horses, hiking, two wheels but no cars and fat side by sides are hit or miss.

You can ride bigger bikes out in Baja but you stray off road at your own risk..
There are a bunch of off road videos that show people crashing.. Mike's Sky Ranch is a must visit. But weather effects are always something you need to consider.. Rare deeper snow covers stuff like ruts and rocks, you crash.. Rain, snow and seasonal water create water crossings that will have variety of fat slippery rocks, or water deep enough, fast enough to knock you down, you crash. There is one thing about Baja, if you come to an obstacle and say or think, maybe if I just look around there is an easier way.. You are wrong, you are going to crash..

I think that I might have mentioned it in our moto PM: in the '80s a group of us parked in South San Diego (TJ valley?), and then played on Baja. It was a blast! Most of us were on 250 two stroke race bikes. Gas was the issue because those bikes have small fuel capacity, and the quality of gas that we were buying was not making those high strung race bikes run too great.

I just love the look of the unmodified Grom and its capabilities (honestly wouldn't want anything faster or more powerful as a first motorcycle), and the way those guys in the second vid are changing the tires makes me distrust whatever it is they had modified the Grom to! 😱

Evidently the Grom weighs anywhere from 220 to 230 pounds, I think that's still plenty of bike! How much does a typical crotch rocket weigh?

Ninja ZX1000R is about 450 ish.

I'm sold! If I were to ever get a motorcycle it would be a Grom or the Monkey, now I would just need for you and Unchained to come up to my house and teach me how to operate it because I'm presuming the shifting is a bit different from that of a bicycle! 😀

I know you and @Unchained are hardcore, but what do you think of mopeds? Are they basically just for city riding?

Mopeds are referred to as ebikes now. 😛

You could learn the basics in a few hours and then practice, practice...

I will try to find the fabrication video of a guy who turns an old 1960s car into an EV , he gets a totaled Nissan Leaf and uses the parts, Guy has to build everything by hand. I never get tired of seeing people who are masters of working with their hands.

For sure! Quality craftsmanship seems a bit of a lost artform, and you know what they say: if you want a job done right you do it yourself! And it helps if you have the right tools for the job - I just love to see toolsheds or workshops that are perfectly organized and well equipped, my tools are just kinda wherever they're the most handy. On that note I'm grateful we have all these tools to make our lives a little easier, while it all added up I think I spent more money on bicycle repair tools than actual bicycles! :tearsofjoy:

A noob question to riding motorcycles - is there an ideal body weight to riding motorcycles on the pro level? I mean, is it anything like riding a bicycle on the pro level?
